Pet Semetary (1989) is pretty good for reactions, even if you haven’t read the book. They usually mash up Stephen King’s books when turning them to movies, but this one was actually pretty good. Misery was good too

Ok man you did not specify genre you only said keep it short so here are some of my all time favorites under 2.5 hours (gonna try and stick to one’s I can see ALL of you enjoying) 1. Pitch Black (Know you’d like this one and it does have GOOD sequels but also works as a stand alone) 2. Matilda 3. The Fifth Element 4. Romeo + Juliet 1996 (yeah I know everyone KNOWS the story dude just TRUST ME, I wouldn’t recommend it if this particular retelling wasn’t entertaining, stunning, and an experience unto itself) 5. Blindspotting 6. The Lost Boys 7. Jurassic Park (if you or them haven’t seen it, SEE IT, life as you know it will never be the same in a GOOD way, also the longest of the list so far as it’s 7 minutes over two hours but every second is gold I promise) 8. Alien 9. Stand By Me 10. Fright Night (2011) 11. Treasure Planet 12. Atlantis 13. Gladiator (longest on the list 2.5 hours but also potentially one of the best on this list of greatest hits) 14. The Last of The Mohicans 15. Blade 16. Good Will Hunting 17. The Breakfast Club 18. Memoirs of a Geisha 19. Spirited Away (you can NEVER go wrong with studio Ghibli) 20. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. 21. Pan’s Labyrinth You legitimately cannot fail choosing anything from this list, I promise you every single film on it is good but they are all DIFFERENT so I hope if you don’t recognize something you’ll take the time to look up a synopsis for it.
