This movie doesn't have ties to Django but it does have ties to Inglorious Basterds. Oswaldos real name is "English" Pete Hicox, he´s related to Lt. Archie Hicox, the german speaking English soldier from Inglorious Basterds

Man no one mentioned that the guitar that John smashes was a crazy expensive antique - Daisy's scream was genuine as a skilled guitar player she couldn't believe he'd smashed the relic by mistake. Also the Sheriff calls Samuel Jacksons character black or the n-word throughout the movie. He doesn't have a change of heart in the end as he's being using either word constantly - the 'black major' etc
