If you like 'end of the world' movies from the 90s. I suggest "Deep Impact" (1998) I think you guys would really enjoy it.

In short, Independence Day is the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. After North America was discovered and the country was developing, we were still under the command of the British. And they were enacting laws and rules that the people over here didn't agree with, and it was compounded by the fact that there was no representation in the British Parliment. So, essentially, we decided we didn't want to be under the command of a government that was literally an ocean away. (There's also stuff dealing with quartering and tariffs, but that's not the most relevant.) So upon deciding to form our own government, the founding fathers had to essentially send the British government a document that basically said, "We're no longer under your command. We are independent from you." And on the day the Declaration was signed was July 3 and 4th. So henceforth, July 4th is known as Independence Day. What you were talking about was the end of the Revolutionary war.

Man this was fun ride with yall as always!! Lol hannah goes wild in sci movies with her predictions lmao! Buts its fun :P IF yall read this or Ash i would recommend the second one if you enjoyed the characacters and world building. The father is in it and so it Jeff goldblum and its about will smiths son so its further along afterwards IT definitely is no where near as good as the first one but its still great for what it is like i said if u like the lore. Also the scientist guy is still in it :P

My July 4th tradition is to sit down and watch this movie. Over the years of countless viewings of this movie, what never wanes for me is the presidents speech, the heartfelt goodbyes and Russels noble sacrifice. This movie has cringe yes but it does a phenomenal job of showcasing the fight of the human spirit to carry on against whatever oppression. The human spirit is a powerful thing which can overcome impossible odds. And the way this movie marries the cheese with that struggle to survive whatever the costs is such an incredible thing. I was so happy you guys reacted to a movie I hold near and dear to my heart. I look forward to continuing to watch you guys reactions for the foreseeable future. Much love to you both.
