They are Vampires. They exist in a morally grey area. I believe the human livestock are generally paid for their contributions. People have always believed in vampirism, but in this universe it starts 6 thousand years ago. I think Louis is eating a fox. I think the waiter mentions the word vulpine. Many Irish and German immigrants came to New Orleans. Their eyes and fingernails are a giveaway. BOY is still a horrible insult when used for a black man by a white person. First married couple argument🤣.

Lestat has a car and this is just before WWI

Yours is a fascinating train of thought to follow, Sam.

The first 2 seasons of Interview are told from Louis point of view. We only have his version of their life together.

I always thought Louis' mom felt she needed to blame L. for Paul's death because in her Catholic beliefs, someone who commits suicide goes to hell. As in eternal hell fire and damnation. She can't abide that thought and so by shifting the blame to Louis, it means, in her mind, that Paul went to heaven.

Many have written about correlations / connections between vampirism and Christianity, specifically, Catholicism. It is interesting to explore. As one writer asks, "Why do we fear those who drink blood, when our own faith [Catholicism] commands us to do the same?" Really interesting stuff to explore if you want to tickle your mind.

In that time and in that place, taking a leak in the street after dark would not be unheard of. I love this episode. The mood, the music (oh the music), the beautifully written dialogue, and just stellar acting. I find myself curious and captivated by Lestat at this point, thanks, in part, to Sam Reid's acting.

One thing I would say is that we don't make comments that will rob Sam of the experience of figuring out the details of show in his own time, in this case the narration issue. Does that seem fair?

first married couple argument hahaha

Sam Ham

very good insight and very likely to actually happen.

oh wow thats so true. not once have i ever made that connection

how do we feel about lestat at this point tho? was i off the ball altogether?

Everything seems not black and white so far which I guess is on purpose? Like all good stories, it's probably early to draw conclusions but man, it's a ride. From the production to just everything. Some shows spoon feed you and sometimes you want to be spoon fed. lol But this show demands more of us, I think. I love it. And I think you are really good at this and I'm enjoying your thoughtful reactions.
