The force is presenting many doubts today, masters! It is our job to resolve them soon... 🤔

Star Wars 3D Models Patreon is about to celebrate its year of existence and as you know our main goal is to create the biggest collection in the galaxy, we want it to be so magnificent that it can be seen from any planet, but as you know, this is not an easy task, luckily, we have you who help us every day to be better, today is one of those days where we need you more than ever, so put that lightsaber aside and pay attention 👇😹

The pre-supported version is something fundamental for every Jedi that is dedicated to printing, so we want your experience with them to be the best and hopefully, avoid wasting materials in failed prints. Believe us, we know how it feels and it's not pleasant, so please leave here below all your comments, ideas, and everything you can think of about this topic, we assure you that we will read them all and this will help us not to make mistakes that can affect the balance in the force

We thank you once again for taking the time to read this message and give us your opinion, it is really valuable, we are sure that with it we will create a pre-supported version worthy of being the basis of a galactic empire of printing.

Best regards and may the force be with you ❤️

I like the pre supported versions I appreciate that the designer takes that extra step for us

Jonathon Karafa

I have only printed a handful of pre-supported models. Of the ones I have, they all worked pretty much as expected.

Josh Steadman

I personally don’t ever download the supported version, I have fine tuned “my” settings to leave as little blemishes on the print as possible

Backyard Props

In all honesty I have tried pre-supports and as much as it’s appreciated that there is that option available, I tend to find the drain holes can sometimes not be big enough or it needs more, also I have frequent fails on them. So I just do my own hollowing and supports. Keep up the awesome work on the models though 😎👍🏼

Steven Bailey

Definitely the pre supported ones

charles brown

Same experience here, the lightsaber pre supports makes the poor thing look like it's got chicken pox 😬 but I have to say I like the pre supports on the character models they work well 👍

Darryl Sorensen

Yeah I havent set one of these models to print yet, but normally i set my own supports up. this way my drains are the way i want them and i choose areas i value not having supports by tilting the part in that direction.

Luis ramirez

I would like to use the pre-supported versions but my printer does not use chitobox

Jason DeLong

I will most likely stop subbing if I don’t get pre supports I don’t have time to deal with doing them myself lol

Ian O'Connell

I only "support" creators who do pre-supports. I love your work!

thepoulpe

So far I've only printed Ahsoka Tano and several supported parts don't fit.. I've already told you about this privately. the heads and torso with hood do not resist with a single support on the tips closest to the printing plate and we see that on the first models the supports are thick and then become thin on the other parts.

2026-09-08 03:00 for me i think issue came from slicers, because those are made with chitubox and when I sliced with lychee there might be an error, tried different supported models from different creators and all had similar failures.

Hi, I usually use the supported versión, and used it to, to escale and take the correct position on the print, and then, I used my own supports. But if I print the file in their scale, I use support version

MinionMancer

You guys do an amazing job on your sculpting and piece. I can't imagine doing it all by yourself would mean! I know great people that could help you with the supports if you'd like. They do it as a job and they make an awesome job really! Their supports are the best there is 👌🏻😉

Thank you for your comment and opinion! We are glad to see that the presupports are working well for you. Best regards and may the force be with you!

SW3D Patreon

Master Jonathon! Thanks for your opinion, this will help us to find a better future for our Patreon.

SW3D Patreon

Oh, master that's great, we know that many of you already know your configuration inside out and work with it. Thanks for your comment and opinion!

SW3D Patreon

We understand your point master! We think thinner lightsaber supports would work well or what do you think? Thanks for your comment, this will help us a lot to keep improving.

SW3D Patreon

First of all, thank you for taking the time to give us your opinion master, this is very important for us. We will review with our work team the issue of the drainage holes, maybe on some occasions, they have been a little small. Best regards and may the force be with you.

SW3D Patreon

Master Steven! We are glad to see that everything is working properly, we will continue working to make the pre supports versions as good as possible, thanks for taking the time to give us your opinion, greetings, and may the force be with you.

SW3D Patreon

Hi master Nathan! Thanks for giving us your opinion, could you please be a little more specific? This would help us to know our mistakes and be able to correct them in the future, greetings and may the force be with you!

SW3D Patreon

Hi master Darryl! Thanks for giving us your opinion, we know that many of you manage your own configuration and that's great. If you have any recommendations that you can give us we are all ears, again thanks, and may the force be with you.

SW3D Patreon

Oh, master Luis that makes us quite sad! What program does your printer use? we have in mind in the future to release several versions for the presoportados so that everyone can use them. Thanks for your feedback!

SW3D Patreon

jeje that's a good pun! Thanks, master, we are always looking for the best for all of you and that's why we do these surveys, we want to know our mistakes and successes to keep improving in the future. Thanks again for your comment and we are glad to see that you like the pre supports version.

SW3D Patreon

Oh, master! First of all thanks for your opinion, we will check the model to correct it as soon as possible... On many occasions we vary between soft and medium supports depending on the piece, we will review this with our team so that it does not happen again. Greetings and may the force be with you.

SW3D Patreon

Oh master I think you are right, when you change programs some bugs can happen. We are already working so that in the future the Chitubox option will not be the only one, the idea is also to be able to work on the lychee where we know that many of you use it. Thank you for giving us your opinion, it is very valuable for us.

SW3D Patreon

Hey Master Tiwi! Oh, that's great, we know that many times you are looking for different scales and as we told you we are working on it, but we are glad to hear that the pre-supported version is working well for you.

SW3D Patreon

Oh, master! We're really glad to read that, we work so hard to make sure everything goes smoothly and to make sure your printing experience is the best it can be. Don't worry, we already have a couple of guys to help us with that, thanks for the recommendation and your comment. Best regards and may the force be with you.

SW3D Patreon

Oh, master! Don't worry jeje, the pre-supported version will always be in all our models, we know this helps a lot to people who don't have a lot of time. Thanks for taking the time to give us your opinion, best regards, and may the force be with you!

André Wendt

I mainly use the presupported versions, but i have the same problem like patron "German". The supported STL Version doesnt work with lychee and almost every time i get errors. So i have to use chitubox files with chitubox slicer, which i personally dont like.

SW3D Patreon

Oh master! This is a bug that is present in many of you, but don't worry, we are already working on a way to add this version to lychee, so we can make sure this problem doesn't happen again. Thank you very much for your comment and may the force be with you!

Darryl Sorensen

the only possible thing, is maybe have a discord server where cuts can be discussed by those who want, and that way you get direct input rather than using this forum. As It isnt really great for getting input. Not that i have had any issues with cuts. I just noticed some patreons use discord for a deeper dive, of the prints this way its not all on you. Some input could be useful on specific model and people can see your progress with minimal effort. it can just be screen caps and photos.

Ian Martin

I've only printed out a few things but have found your supports leave really deep scarring and take alot of work to clean them up. I've had other files that compare in size and the supports leave no marks or scars on those.

SW3D Patreon

Hi master! First of all thank you for your opinion, this is very important to keep improving, maybe this happens because of the thickness of the supports in some parts, we are already working with our team to correct this. Thanks again and may the force be with you.

Samuel Castagnetti

the main issues that i had are that the holes are small and that leads to resin being stuck inside and in the long run cracking the model. also having so many pieces fopr the pre supported stuff makes me work a lot more so i just do supports myself on bigger chunks of the models.

SW3D Patreon

Thanks for taking the time to give us your opinion master, it helps us to chart a better future for our Patreon! We will review with the team the issue of the holes.

NerdsandNickNacks

I actually recently lamented this. Everything for the Darth Maul 50% file printed well with some scarring but not much. It all beautifully fit together. Then I got to his torso and the supports on the back made it rough enough for me to want to support it myself and reprint.

SW3D Patreon

Hi Master! When you say "rough" is it because the brackets were too big? Thanks for the comment and your feedback, this will help us a lot to keep improving.

NerdsandNickNacks

I believe the overall thickness of the supports were too thick. It was two spots where they were larger and clumped very close. Usually there's a taper to the points that connect to the model but these ones really did not come away cleanly with clippers. All the other pieces including the base printed nicely though. And if they had scarring the way you guys supported it, it wasn't in visible spots.

SW3D Patreon

Okey master! We understand your point, thanks for the advice and recommendation, we will take it into account for future models, thanks.
