Thank you for joining us for another episode of Last Stand Media's Constellation! Your impeccable taste in podcasts has not gone unnoticed. This week, Summon Sign's Bradley Ellis chooses Pokemon as his topic, and the gang has a ball discussing one of the most successful media franchises on the planet. After decades of catching the hearts and minds of both children and adults the world over, what experiences have we had with the celebrated trading cards, video games and animated series? Next, Punching Up's Gene Park would like to digress for a bit of political discourse. Now that the 2024 presidential election is in our collective rear-view mirrors, Gene needs to get some things off his chest while also checking in with his cohosts concerning their post-election perspectives. Last, Dagan 'Dagster' Moriarty challenges his pals to a fun Pop-Culture Quiz!  Two podcasting heroes find themselves locked in a bloody battle of nerdy knowledge, but only one can claim victory!

(And of course, a special thank you to Jigglypuff.)

Not complaining since I actually enjoy it, but it is funny that we get Election talk two weeks in a row lol

Geoff

Excited to hear Gene speak about the election since he's been on the DL for a while due to the Washington Post situation.

So we're really sticking to that whole 3 person show thing huh? smh :(

Three people makes for a more involved discussion from all involved, with fewer periods of extended silence from anyone. Right about 3 hours is a perfect length. Really appreciate the changes you guys have made, they are especially good for those of us that listen to pretty much every show. Plenty of time to get deep, but not so long that it feels like work getting through. I know maybe some more casual listeners who only catch 1 or 2 shows a week will continue to complain, but I just wanted to let LSM know that I approve of the changes.

Thanks for expressing your thoughts, Gene! I always appreciate hearing your perspective. Normally, I despise discussing or thinking about politics, but I've been thoroughly fascinated by this election because I was 100% convinced Harris was going to win. She had every advantage possible including major celebrity endorsements, the mainstream media being almost exclusively propagandist in their coverage of her, almost every facet of pop culture endorsing her, the entire usual suspects of big democrat politicians fawning over her, and Trump's very rough and controversial nature. And yet she and the democrats got absolutely bodied this time around. I've been having an unusually fun time exploring what went wrong for her and what went right for Trump.

Rss down for anyone else again? Trying the YouTube music app and it's not showing up

bring 👏 back 👏 four 👏 people 👏. I assume most of us listen to LSM while we are working, so the longer the better in my opinion. One of the reasons why I gravitate towards LSM in the first place is long podcast episodes so I don’t have to worry about constantly swapping while I’m working.

Robbie Agnew

Trump has the chance to make real differences. Question is: will he?

Morten Madsen

Rss issue? this episode is not on my podcast app.

ExpectingRain

Anyone no what’s up with the RSS feeds not getting things on time? As of 2:00pm ct still nothing in my feed.

Dana Anderson

I didnt vote for Harris for a multitude of reasons, but her lack of response on identity politics is exactly the problem. People on the left have demonized those on the right for years, of which makes zero sense if you listen to what is actually said. People are ostracized for simply having a difference of opinion and are being silenced. So was Harris’ lack of response an issue? Absolutely, because we need a response and acknowledgement that progressives have gone too far. There are more and more trans kids, which makes zero sense because the rest of the world does not see this issue. It is a problem, and politicians need to play in the public space and allow differing opinions in public discourse. Otherwise it shows how out of touch they are with public concerns.

Moistescarjoe

Can we have one BIG politics special with everyone on that wants to talk about it?

Bizy_Mix

GENE FOR PRESIDENT!

RSS again not updated 4:200pm EST

Trump is guided by the hand of God. The American people recognized this, and cast a righteous vote. Together, under the benevolent guidance of the 47th, we'll burn asunder the demons and degenerates that plague our country. The knees of the LGBT community are jelly - rightfully so. Everything they've built shall fall...and from the ashes of their world, we will build a better one! 🇺🇸🦅🟠

Wish Colin would have been on this episode. Hate to not have him on anything political related. Would like to have another episode with Colin, Jaffe and Gene.

Carlos Hernandez

I didn't even know Witchblade was an American comic because I only knew it as an anime

Robert Schultz

Is this not showing in the RSS feed for anyone else?

Joshua Brown

ACKSHUALLY, Ditko left Spider-Man before Spider-Man ‘No More’ over a dispute with Stan Lee about the identity of who the Green Goblin should be (he wanted a random guy). John Romita took over as the artist after that.

Joshua Hinderscheid

I miss having 4 people on. The longer episodes make my work week better.

Jake Whitaker

RSS feeds still busted. Don’t have the most recent 3 shows

larry Seitz

Gene talking about kids like he knows what he's talking about come on man. Also I was a pretty big leftist until I had my daughter actually started paying attention to policies.

larry Seitz

The left had joe rogan... Mitt Romney and many others are not united with right. The left is way more in lock step

Billy boob

After a few episodes with the 3 guests my honest feedback is it needs the 4.. even if we don’t get all 4 topics it’s good to have more of the variety of opinions of the topics at hand. No hate, you’re all great it’s just my opinion as a fan 👍🏻

Daniel

My wife opened a Pokémon TCG Pocket booster for me this morning. Had rare Blastoise-ex and Snorlax in it. Definitely one for the crew.

AngelOfCake

I liked the quiz. I hope ye keep it if ye have a light week. For kicks and giggles though, if there is a tie, flip a coin to test their luck stats. I'm worried about Zelda too. Voice acting ruined that game! It should be cute noises and text. Oddly enough, I guessed Ryan Reynolds but I completely forgot about Blade.

IronLion44

Pokémon is and will forever be my guilty pleasure. lol!

IronLion44

My older brother is 34 and I’m 32 and he still makes fun of me for crying in the Pokémon movie when Ash gets turned into stone.

IronLion44

Gene, I love you but the democrats lie just as much as republicans. GTFO with that.

Pacoflipper

Ben Affleck has played 3 superhero characters, Superman (Hollywoodland), Daredevil & Batman

NecrumOddBoy

I have to disagree with Gene on people, not knowing who Joe Biden was during the Obama administration. The reason why he was silenced is because every single time Obama made a public statement or presidential decree, Joe would come out and say the complete opposite and go off on a raging tangent. They moved him out of the spotlight because he was causing too many issuesfor the administration. I kind of think he really was more of a republican than anybody in the Democratic Party back then. Makes sense cause he probably voted for Trump lol

Marco Maluf

Gene was kinda of in the Middle or so it seemed to me, but now that we have a result, he decided to speak, I thought that maybe from being from another country, lived with different cultures, he would be able to see the democratic party for what it is, I am not from the USA and I see what the agenda the dem party follow, does to a country, I live in one suffering from it, BUT, still love you Gene, you are the Goat, even not knowing how to vote 🤣🤣🤣

Marco Maluf

Nicolas Cage played superman, spider man noir, ghost rider….
