Howdy, boys. Thanksgiving tradition dictates that we go around the table and share a few things we are thankful for this year. I’ll go first. I’m thankful for my health. I’m thankful that I’ll never run out of great games to play. And I’m thankful that I’m able to count on the consistency of LSM content to keep me company. You all helped me make it through the toughest year of my life and I’m grateful to each and every one of you. Austin (I know this is a repost from this week’s Summon Sign, so I really don’t expect to be read again, but I just wanted to make sure that you guys were aware of how much you’ve helped me out this year.)

Ryan Del Vecchio

Sup boys, Dustin and JD Vance related? Thanks

Florida Man

Hello crew wanted to wish a happy thanksgiving and please don’t fuck that chicken before serving it.

Did Chris post a second video within one week just so he could play Balatro again?

Andrew

Hello Colin, Dustin and Chris. Long time listener and first time writing in. Have you heard of the EGM compendium that is currently on Kickstarter? It's s book about the history of EGM, which comes with a digital archive of issues and a lost issue being released (at a certain tier) Wondering what your thoughts on this are and if you were fans of EGM in the past or was it more Gamepro and Nintendo Power. I am not affiliated with this Kickstarter and am not trying to promote it all, just curious. Cheers Ness

Zach Wishnuff

Happy Thanksgiving Gentlemen, What do you think is the most important gaming franchise in PlayStation’s history? And what is its current most important franchise? Thanks, Zach

Hello Turkey legs With the new Playstation portable system rumored again, and being said to be years away, why have it only play ps5 games and down? Wouldn't it make more sense to have it launch with the ps6 and be a portable ps6? Just have it be what the series s is to the x in terms of power, but portable. Doesn't make sense to me to release it close to the ps6, but not be able to play ps6 games. Anyway, have a happy Thanksgiving. And remember, Peril is superior to turkey.

Sup, fellas! Small correction from last week's episode. A major part of the Portal's update (4.0??) was to correct the micro stuttering issues seen in both PS4 and PS5 remote play. With this fix, I've seen a night and day difference in my remote play experience while using my Portal. Hopefully, Sony can continue to push the tech further, for even more performance. Thanks for all you do!

TheBrandalorian

Hey, y'all. What are some of your biggest gaming Pet Peeves? I'll list some of mine below: -Relearning old abilities in a game's sequel - Arbitrary skill trees to "deepen" the combat system -Weapons not reloading unless you sit still for every frame of a long reload animation -Locking the player out of the main quest until you do a bunch of side content. Looking at you, Ghost of Tsushima. Thanks for the quality podcasts and not making mindless drivel about games like a lot of others.

Bioshockingtheworld

Hey Sacred Crew, This question is mainly for Dustin. Would you consider the Persona series and Metaphor as an anime? I understand it’s a game, but honestly I’m sitting with my controller on my lap most of the time watching anime cutscenes. Technically I’ve watch a full anime season at this point, so what does the weeb think about this? Can I add Persona and Metaphor as anime I’ve watched?

KeanuReeve

Hi Steak & Slites! I recently came into possession of a PS5 Pro AND a Steamdeck, and the new tech has got me reconsidering my backlog in some fun adventurous ways. It's the most excited I've been about gaming in a few years, honestly! Heading into 2025, wondering if you guys have any mission statements or gameplans for how you'll approach gaming in the new year? Will Dustin finally play Suikoden 2? Will Chris finish Rebirth? Will Colin play a soulslike? Hope you're all well! -Cun

Hello Team, no question just a huge congrats on the last SS+ episode. Guests were fire, great questions and an exciting sneak peak into mindset of truly passionate people. Thank you!

Hello CDC! Sometimes, while I’m taking a shit, I will pause in the middle of expelling a solid log. When the log is noticeably both inside and outside of my butthole, I will savor the feeling and before pinching it off I will think to myself: “So THIS is what it’s like to have a dick in my ass” Does anyone relate to this? Do you think this is an accurate way of predicting the sensation? Are you now going to try it now that I have given you the idea? Thanks, and stay cool fellas!

Leeiscooljenkins

Hey Sacred boys, Happy Thanksgiving, as a European I don't celebrate this holiday but I have a few American friends and over the years they've educated me on the traditions and how giving thanks is an important part of it. I'd like to give thanks to gaming podcasts. I got into podcasts relatively late, About 2018. Starting with some UK based shows who would mention the big American podcasts which led me to Sacred and LSM. Unfortunately I just found out this week that the host of my first regular podcast passed away over the weekend. He was a fan of Colin since the Beyond days and a massive Sony Pony! So thanks Toz and RIP. Also thanks to all of LSM for keeping my podcast journey going.

Hey CDC, First time, long time. I remember the first time I listened to Colin was when i was around 11 or 12 years old between 2008-2009. I just wanted to congratulate on all of your success and remind you that you are old. Anyways on to my question. I was wondering how powerful you all think the potential new playstation handheld will be. Will it be at the same power level as the base ps5, the pro, or perhaps even more powerful than that? Do you think it will interact with the home console in anyway for a power boost?

Cristian Colta

Hey there MMF, I avoided for a long time writing in about this, because I need to oversimplify a bit too much to keep this short. Colin brings up almost weekly how converted he is to 60 fps, and the why and how that happened. Well, I'm here to say that it's not the PS5 and not the games that converted you. It's your TV. Let me explain. Every single screen, that was ever made, has a built in motion smoothing feature. It takes precious miliseconds for some tiny crystal to shift their position and show a different color. Every single screen... except OLEDs. OLEDs generate the new image on top of the old one jarringly instant. So jarringly that even the snobbiest of movie snobs, have to allow for a tiny bit of motion smoothing, when watching some old 24p black and white movies. They are unwatcheble otherwise, and will cause a literal headache. This is called pixel response time, and is separate from the input lag a TV manufacturer advertises. The good news is, that if you want to go back to enjoy PS3 era, 20 fps games, all you have to do is, purchase the cheapest LED LCD tv you can find, or achieve the exact same result by enabling the motion smoothing feature in your OLED. Yes, this will add input lag. No, it will not be nearly as big as a PS3 era tv had. 2nd and final attempt to get this read. Cheers, Cristian,

Hey gents, I keep hearing from all corners of video game internet that Sony views themselves as the Apple of video games. If they truly want that status, the unboxing experience of the PS5 Pro is just not allowed to happen. Apple spends untold billions to make sure the unboxing experience of all their products makes you feel like you’re opening something special. Opening the PS5 Pro felt like I was opening the box of a $20 toaster. How is this allowed to happen? If for no other reason than pride, don’t you want your most loyal, highest spending customers to feel good about their purchase? Or am I making a mountain out of a molehill?

John

Colin – Xbox has long played coy with their data by using meaningless metrics like player numbers to judge the success of a game. If you had 1 crack at getting any information out of Xbox and you knew it was going to be accurate, what are a couple of metrics you would you want to see? Using the newest Black Ops 6 as an example: What % of those players played the game for more than 30 minutes What % of those players first played the game on Gamepass, and then went on to actually purchase the game as well What % of players bought 1-month of Gamepass, and then cancelled after that month

Hey Boys, The story from a few weeks ago about the woman shitting behind that dude's shed reminded me of a similar incident - one etched into my memory until the day I die. I know its long but its absolutely worth it. My family went to a private party of roughly 50 people. Our neighbors, a married couple, came with us. The husband was a perpetually drunk 2 meter tall dutch man - thats 6 ft 5. for you yanks. A huge guy. On the way to the party he told us he had been eating spicy Indian curry all night and that his stomach was a bit upset. Nevertheless when we got to the party he proceeded to keep drinking heavily. At some point the music was playing and he got up to dance amongst a small crowd with me nearby. Suddenly I see a strange expression come over his sweaty face. He glances and me and sees me noticing his strange behavior and leans in to tell me in a very serious voice- "Im shitting myself right now.." Strangely enough he continued to dance for about a minute while shitting his pants before eventually making his way to the bathroom. He comes back 10 minutes later looking rather pleased with himself. I ask him whats up. He tells me he wrapped his shitty underwear in toilet paper and put them in his wife's purse. At this point I can only imagine the consequences. We eventually leave the party and start to make our way back home to our street nearby. As we leave the building he turns to his wife and tells her, "Darling there's something I need to tell you," looking rather embarrassed. A look of bewilderment develops on her face as he recounts the story of how he shit himself and put his shitty underwear in her purse. After a few seconds of silence that felt like an eternity, she looks him dead in the eyes and says- "I didn't bring a purse." To this day I have never laughed harder. To the woman who got an alcoholic Indian curry mega shit in her purse- I'm truly sorry on behalf of all humanity you had to experience that.

Hey CDC, I just got the Platinum in Habroxia and I’ve started Habroxia 2 after having all Lillymo/Sacred Symbols games in my library for awhile. Wow! I figured the games would be fun, but Habroxia 2 especially is a phenomenal indie game. If the Last Stand community has slept on these, don’t! Go play them. Fun trophies, too. Take care!

Hey fellas! Long-time listener, but this is my first time writing in! I’ve been moving over the last week and had my new couch delivered yesterday. The lead installer, Jerry, seemed like a nice guy, probably in his late thirties/early forties, and asked me to show him where the couch would be placed. Never would have pegged him as a gamer. As we walked out, Jerry spotted my PS5 Pro and asked me what I thought of it. The fact that he could distinguish between the base and pro models told me all I needed to know about his level of gaming knowledge. We spent the rest of the install chatting about our stand-out games of the year (Astro Bot & Stellar Blade were among his personal favorites). Anyway, I just thought this was a really cool moment. It’s always so fun to discover that a total stranger loves the same hobby that you do. Jerry, if you’re a Sacred Symbols listener, thanks for the install and happy gaming. The couch is sick. Have you guys had any similar encounters to mine? Thaanks!

Hello Sacred Tri-Breakers, I'm a professor, and for years within higher education, we've been talking about the "demographic cliff" that is going to effect college enrollment significantly in the next year or two. Simply put: developed nations like the US almost always see the birth rate decline precipitously to the point that the population actually shrinks, and most western democracies like the US have seen this happen. There are fewer 18-year-olds to even try to recruit to go to college, let alone trying to convince people that going to college is worthwhile for them right now. For me, this all connects directly with the current gaming situation and the discussion for "new growth opportunities" and finding new users. It is many of the historically largest markets for gaming that are experiencing these demographic declines, so there are fewer young players to newly expose to gaming. Thus, reaching new markets like China or India is important, of course, for growing the base, but as we know, there are many issues with that, too... Do you have thoughts on this? I've been really surprised that no one in games media seems to think about it this way. I'll hang up and listen now - happy thanksgiving to all of you, your families, and the LSM audience.

Hello gentlemen, Have been listing to Colin since the Beyond days and recently signed up to the Patreon, has been well worth the investment thus far (the constellation episode with Jaffe and Dagan after the election is a shining example of how people with different opinions and views can sit down and talk to each other respectively) With news of the Rebirth director saying he likes Xbox and some of the attention Square has given Microsoft recently, can Final Fantasy come back to be the sales giant it once was? Many people blame the sales “failures” of FF16 and Rebirth on exclusivity but the franchise has always largely sold best across PlayStation consoles regardless I personally loved both games (still playing Rebirth, it’s very girthy) and am a fan of the direction of the series with Remake being more traditional if you will and the mainline series being more experimental…however, is it realistic to stay the course per Square’s sales goals? If not, what do you think the series needs to get back to be the behemoth it once was (i.e. selling as much as Sony first party titles, a la God of War, Horizon)?

Hey CDC, not video game related but AEW posted the costco guy's wrestling match from this past Saturday. I'll admit it was better than it had any right to be. Here's the link if you are interested in watching it: https://youtu.be/2fGCnx9EVl0?si=i9hx-q7hoEVqBAjY Happy Thanksgiving, I'll shut up and listen now.

Hey all, There is no way they call it the PSP2, is there?

Christopher Maldonado's Uncle Lucho

Good morning Gamists, Sony just released a PlayStation history retrospective on their website, chronicling each generation with fun facts and quotes from developers. That got me thinking: I'd love to hear some pivotal PlayStation memories throughout the years from you boys! I cherish wacky memories like getting my sister's unwanted PS1 and becoming obsessed with Pac-Man World, getting a PS3 slim a week before the PSN outage and being the only person I knew with a PS Vita. Thanks so much for all the laughs! Here's to 30 more years of Sacred, or else!

Ryan Voss

Greetings Sacred Sweeties, Not a question but a request. Can the "fantasy slop nerd voice" also please be applied to games like Horizon, Halo, and Metaphor that get brought up on the show frequently? Whenever I hear it I think about Colin playing Forbidden West and saying "eeuuughh the shadow carja". This voice has now infected my brain to where every time I load up The Witcher 3 I say to myself "eeeuughhh Geralt has a silver sword for the monsters". I love you all dearly and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Anton Kaye

Hey CDC, I noticed, through the PlayStation app, Tri Breaker already has a 16.6% Platinum percentage and that struck me as odd. Did Colin send out codes to 1k people and 166 already have the plat? Is the trophy data not as reliable as we thought for garnering metrics? I'm sure Colin knows exactly who and how many are playing Tri Breaker (the release date has not been announced yet), so what gives on this Platinum percentage? Thank you for getting us through another year and Happy Thanksgiving.

Ernie M

Hey guys, with news that Cyberpunk 2077 has now sold 30 million units, can we expect a sequel? Would you be interested in one? Also, if a DLC can be GOTY then Phantom Liberty was robbed!

Curtis Batten

Hello punkheads, Colin, LEGO Final Fantasy 6? I’ll hang up and listen now.

Remington Wilson

Sup Clitter Slitters, I’ve played 250 hours of Balatro this year. Whats the most hours you’ve spent on one game in a year? Not named Halo or Call of Duty. Keeps slittin’ those clits. Love you guys

Dante Martins

Hi handsome fellas and Dustin A LinkedIn leak shown to us that the next game from naughty dog is named “timeless travel” What you guys think about that ? Sounds very lame but it’s probably a place holder, nevertheless just the thought of naughty dog making a futuristic cyberpunk kinda game feels my nerd heart with joy

N M

Hi gang, Colin, I've heard you mention the PS5 selling at a higher pace than the PS1 multiple times. Why is this an important or surprising metric? As gaming is significantly more mainstream, there are millions of more people playing video games now than there were 25 years ago. Honestly, if it wasn't out-pacing sales of the PS3/4, much less the PS1, I'd be extremely worried. Thank you for helping my workdays fly by every week, really appreciate all of the work you guys put in.

Michael Buffill

Hey sacred trio, Was listening to Lock on Summon Sign talking about Dragon Age Veilgaurd and he made really good points about the game not being a true RPG because you couldn’t disagree with characters life choices per se. He also said the writing came off preachy because they didn’t present the other point of view, and that made me think about my Assassin’s Creed Odyssey play through. I, a straight male, played as Alexio and I fucked every man and woman NPC I could. I just thought it was funny and I don’t think it really had consequences for the story. Now if Alexio was presented as a bisexual character by Ubisoft I’m sure there would have been much controversy. Instead it wasn’t suggested at all and players were free to make him be whatever they wanted. If studios made that type of character diversity completely player dependent, then everyone wins. Thanks for all you guys do!

Javin Mather

My dudes, With all the hubbub about Erdtree landing a goty nomination for the Game Awards and what titles belong in what categories and so on, here's a fun question to shift the vibes: If you could concoct your own category for The Game Awards, what would it be??? (No matter how solid or outlandish). What would be examples of games from the past 5 years that might be nominated for it? I hope you are all well and that your Thanksgiving holiday is truly enjoyable :-)

Will Sisto

Hey CCD, I hope you're all doing well and are enjoying your 30th Anniversary edition PS5's and accessories. While I was interested in buying a 30th Anniversary PS5, I couldn't justify spending hundreds of dollars on a new console that I just don't need. It got me thinking, why doesn't Sony sell 30th Anniversary PS5 shells? They sell I'd be much more willing to spend $50 on a new shell than hundreds on a new PS5 and I imagine I'm not alone. The 30th Anniversary Consoles could be marked with serial numbers so collectors would be able to tell them apart from re-shelled regular PS5s. What do you think? Is this a crazy idea? Should Sony hire me asap for this ingenious idea? This Thanksgiving I'm thankful for all of you slitterheads.

Thp00ky

Hey Chris, Just wanted to know how you like Bluesky so far? How has engagement been and do you enjoy not being shadow banned? Do you still post on Twitter too? I personally stopped using Twitter when I saw gore from the war in Gaza one too many times that didn’t have a nsfw cover on it, but it was already pretty terrible anyway. Do the other boys plan on making account? I assume no but was curious.

Jason Vanover

Alright Fellas, choose one - You could either have Thanksgiving everyday for a year but never gain a single pound from the gorging... but you have to strictly eat the typical thanksgiving food and your surrounded by family or whatever your regular thanksgiving crew is. Or you could have Christmas everyday for a year with just your significant other and a constant flow of presents with a rotating variety of foods but whatever meal you eat gives you torrential diarrhea for NO LESS than 60 minutes and a caloric intake that needs to be worked off to not start adding up. Choose wisely... are you shoving dry turkey and corn down your gullet for 365 days surrounded by family and political arguments? Or are you demolishing a five guys burger, opening a new drum kit and shitting your soul out until Santa has decided you've suffered enough for the evening?

Nevets

Hello Sacred Gents, I wanted to give a brief update to my situation from a few weeks ago with the neighbor cat poop situation. We tried the orange peels and they worked for a little bit, but the cats are back to pooping near our front door. We are going to try some spray to see if that works. Is it time to tell the neighbors about the situation? Thanks and happy turkey day!

Beaver diva

Hey sacred gentlemen, ive been using the ps5 pro for a week now, and honestly its been pretty disappointing. From games looking worse than base ps5, games saying they've got patches on the store when in fact they haven't, a £40 price drop 5 days after release from the retailer I got mine from, and then just today blooper team straight up removing PSSR from Silent hill 2. Colin, you say Sony are becoming more and more like Apple, well at least with apple if you pay a premium price you get a premium product and experience. Id like to know the thoughts of you guys on this? Also congrats on tri breaker, it'll be my first lillymo game. Thanks for the hours and hours of consistent and thoughtful content throughout the years

Simon Dixon

Hey Dustin and the other guys, There has been intriguing mention of these Patreon exit surveys in the past. I'd love to hear you guys either rip into them or address them honestly in a Sacred Symbols+ episode. Or even as a small segment in the main episode. A great opportunity to open the kimono and have some laughs. That is, of course, unless there is an ethical quandary around publicising these comments.

GivingBear

This is for Colin and Chris (and maybe Dustin): In a past episode you reminisced about playing Mega Man X but complained about the “claw” your hand had to be in to dash and such. Other friends of mine have complained of the same thing and how their hands would ache playing the game because they were constantly dash-jumping to move through levels quicker. But I’ve always felt like the crazy one because since X1 I have always remapped the controller to make dash “R” (SNES) or “R1” (PS). It completely changes the difficulty of those games. If you guys get a chance, try this and see how better those games feel. Never understood why they weren’t set-up that way to begin with. Thanks guys!

Trevor Myers

Hey CDC. I recently watched one of Sophia Narwitz’s youtube videos in which she states that the reason the NPC characters never shut up about how to solve puzzles is because of a streamer called DSP who is apparently very bad at puzzles and Sony Studios used him as a template for how to give hints, ( I guess because they think we’re all bad at puzzles now) so that explains why the NPCs never shut up about how to solve a puzzle when you’ve only been trying to solve it for a minute. Why does sony think we’re all incapable of solving puzzles? Especially when most gamers played Arkham city and caught the Riddler. Thanks and Keep fucking that chicken and/or Turkey!

Jacob Turnbaugh

Howdy Boys! I hope all is well! I know it’s been awhile, but Colin, have you hooked up the soundbar that Dustin got you? Your reasoning the last time this came up was “I’m looking at the screen and the sound should be coming from the screen.” I was an early Dolby Atmos (3D audio) adopter and it’s not something everyone needs but it enhances games, TV, Movies and even music to a certain extent. What made me think about this again was that I was replaying Last of Us Part 1 on PS5 Pro and got to the hydroelectric dam where Tommy is. On your way to the dam, there is a running river going along side you and when you get near the dam, there is a waterfall. Standing near the waterfall I closed my eyes and rotated the camera and heard the raging rapids roar around me. And for horror games it’s fantastic! RE2 being a standout with Mr. X constantly on the move. Sorry for the long post, but my point is, a sound system isn’t about the sound in front of you, but the noises that surround you. Happy Thanksgiving, Jacob

Rob Kvasne

Happy Thanksgiving Scared Three, Two quick questions. Could PlayStation have made Black Friday great again by making their 30th anniversary Pro bundles exclusive to stores? And second, have you boys seen any deals worth leaving the house for? Let alone fighting people over? It is an absolute shame that we have 4k cameras in our pockets at all times, but nobody has any reason to fight over door busters anymore. Keep fucking those turkeys!

Aiden Gonzalez

Hello fats, This question is for Colin, can you please take a moment to explain what’s going on with the Jets this season? As a passive viewer of football, I’m confused and intrigued about the drama surrounding the team this season. As always I’ll hang up and listen.

Tacoyaki

Hey sacred gents, Last weekend I wanted to go see Gladiator 2. I went alone because all of my friends had plans that weekend, but I personally really wanted to go see the movie. Upon 10 minutes into the movie, a middle-aged couple sits in the row in front of me and begins yapping at each other louder than the movie. Then they take out their smartphones and intentionally max out the brightness so that everyone sitting in rows behind them are blinded by the white light. After 10 more minutes of their bs I get up, call them “shitheads”, walk out, and get my refund and tell the manager I’m never coming back to this movie Theater ever again. I didn’t confront the couple, I just wanted to leave and never come back. Am I being too hyperbolic in this situation? This has been years of pent up anger at the decline of Theater etiquette for a while. Would you guys have done the same thing after dealing with a similar situation for years on end? Is Theater etiquette truly dead and never coming back? Thanks as always and hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving!

Bogey

Hey SS boys, This question is mainly for Chris, though I’d love to hear everyone’s input. I never understood the concept of a player being called “sweaty” in an MP game as a negative term Does it just generally mean someone’s trying too hard? But doesn’t everyone play an MP game trying to win? Every time I boot up BO6, I just try my hardest and use all my map knowledge and tactics to get as many kills as possible. Sometimes I dominate the lobby, other times I’m dead last. But I still put in the same amount of effort each time. Even when I’m playing a casual game with friends, I still try to get more kills than everyone else. Does that make me a sweaty player? Or does being sweaty imply something more than that? No shade or offense taken of course, just wanted some clarification on what people mean when they call a game sweaty

Jared R

Hey CDC, Colin, I just saw on Twitter that you’re handing out PR codes for Tri-Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Odyssey—congrats on the launch! I wanted to use this as an opportunity to ask about your perspective on early access, especially from the dual lenses of being a content creator and a game studio owner. You’ve made it clear that Sacred Symbols has a policy against taking early review copies of games, yet you’re actively encouraging content creators to request codes for Tri-Breaker. Can you explain how you reconcile these seemingly conflicting approaches? Also, Chris and Dustin, I don’t think I’ve ever heard your thoughts on Sacred’s stance against early review copies. I know it’s Colin’s decision, but I’d love to hear how you feel about the practice overall. Do you think Sacred’s practice is essential to its success? Neutral? Would you handle it differently if were ultimately up to you? Thanks for all the great content?

Zack Apuzzo

After the news of rock n rollercoaster’s theme getting replaced by the muppets, what would be a worse choice? Imagine dragons?

Austin from Rochester

Hey Sacred Staffel. In case you haven't heard, Finland has fallen. Chris Chan has fled to Finland and knocked up his short Finnish girlfriend. As the people who introduced me to Chris Chan, I just need to ask you one thing. What have you done to me? The knowledge that this creature has procreated has infected my brain and the world seems like a bleaker and scarier place than ever before. Surely the child will inevitably be named Sonichu or Rosechu and will walk the Earth, blending into the crowd as some kind of hellish autistic half-Finnish daywalker. In all seriousness though have a happy Thanksgiving fellas.

Honestly - when cell phones were newer, phone etiquette in theaters was much worse imo. I’d also have zero issue confronting someone in that situation. And yes, it’s not the theaters fault. You didn’t even give them the opportunity to resolve it for you. Your beef is with the couple, not the theater.

Queefer Sutherland

Hey CDC, with Alice Cooper’s guitarist Frank Pinera’s passing, it got me thinking—has a celebrity death ever hit you hard? For me, it was Chester Bennington; my dad even texted me out of the blue to check on me, knowing how much Linkin Park meant to me. Happy Early Thanksgiving from Florida!

KB

Hey Gents, Tom Henderson reported that Kodokawa and Sony have had acquisition talks in the past, but this time both parties seem eager to strike a deal. Here's my question: on last week’s show, you mentioned how FromSoftware should remain independent and separate from PlayStation Studios. Let’s play a hypothetical scenario—if Sony acquires Kodokawa and FromSoftware gets folded into PlayStation Studios, how would you re-rank PS first-party studios in terms of importance? Would FromSoftware immediately become a top 3 team? Which teams does From supplant? Is it possible they take the #1 spot in terms of importance and supersede Naughty Dog? What’s say you? Thanks.

Dexter Wallingsford

Hey Sacred Sharts, We’ve established that Dustin’s celebrity lookalike is our vice president elect JD Vance, and that Chris’ is Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel. But who is Colin’s?

Joseph La Russa

Hey Sacreds. Colin, this isn't PlayStation related, but I recently watched ShoeOnHead's video about the election and I saw you follow her on Twitter. Have you thought about reaching out and inviting her on to Constellation or a political Sacred Symbols for a conversation? I'd love to see that! Take care, gents, and happy Thanksgiving!

Liam Neild

Hey Sacred Crew! With the holiday season just around the corner, I was wondering what are some of your favourite festive gaming memories? It might be a game/console you got as a gift or a particularly memorable title from your youth that you enjoyed playing over the holiday break. Thanks for all that you do and I wish you and yours well.

Mateusz Kuklinski

Hello Sacred Symbols crew. I’d like to congratulate Colin and Barry on the upcoming release of your new game, Tri Breaker. I was looking at the trophies and noticed that someone had already earned the Platinum trophy. My question is, who is PSN user breathofwater and why haven’t you (Colin) Platinumed the game yet?

Brandon Tyler

Chris Chan with a kid…thoughts?

Jeff Caseres

What’s up Sacred Boys! So in last week’s episode, Dustin pointed something out that I’ve been noticing a lot lately in your podcasts. When talking about Geoff’s Awards and who should have win or not, Dustin and Chris said “we don’t care” but spent the whole time saying why they did care. It’s the first time I hear them say that though. Colin, you actually do this a lot. The most recent moment of this happening was in the political Constellations with the Dagster and Jaffe. You clearly stated why you didn’t like Kamala as a candidate, which were fair points but you ended with “I honestly don’t care…” if you truly don’t care then why even talk about it at all? Sometimes it feels like you are putting up a shield by saying “I don’t care” because you actually care about what others might think when you say something. You did this a lot when the ABK deal was happening. You said you didn’t care about it but to me you were very passionate and really did care about the whole situation. It’s ok to care guys. What are your thoughts on this? Love y’all keep it up!

I believe that fromsoft will operate outside of the first party, the amount of players they have on PC alone would dictate that they should remain as independent as possible with releases.

Greetings Sacred C-Men and D-Man. How are you feeling about Shuhei's departure from Sony? Originally my comment was far longer and pontificated about Sony not having a recognizable face to associate with the brand but the patreon app deleted it when my phone turned sideways and I'm not typing all that again. I eagerly await your opinions (especially Colin's) on the matter. Thank you for all you do and congrats on the new game. I can't wait to play.

Michael Small

Hey CDC, This question is mostly for Chris. You've spoken a lot about your perfectionism getting in the way of you posting videos to YouTube—that by the time the video you're working on is ready to be published, you sort of hate it and only see the flaws. Does that perfectionism creep into your video game habits (save scumming, speed running , etc?) or other parts of your life? Colin and Dustin, do you have personality traits that affect the way you game (obviously Colin's trophy hunting OCD, but just curious if you've noticed other quirks). Thanks and keep up the good work!

SourdoughNorsk

Hell Sacred Schnitzels! I just got back from a week long golf trip. 36 holes a day. AZ golf in November was so much fun. But I had to tell you that as hard as it was to come back to work, it was so great plugging you assholes into my ears again. Love listening. Happy to support. And I'm glad I have a podcast like Sacred, among others in the LSM fam, that I get to listen to throughout the day. Peace out homies!

Jambi

Hello SS boys! I hope you all are doing well. Do you all feel Shuhei Yoshida leaving Sony has something to do with his reduced role in the company as the years have gone by? Transitioning from President of Worldwide Studios to head of indie developer initiative always felt like a demotion to me. What are your thoughts? Is there a chance we could have him on the show now that he won’t work for PlayStation? Love the content ya’ll do and stand-proud.

Jon Barnett

Hey CDC, Fly your flags at half mast today, because we are down one hero. He didn't die, but Shuhei Yoshida is leaving SIE. Writing and asking Colin to share some of his favorite Shu memories is not enough (although I still want some of those). Can you all please stand and salute while someone plays Taps? You know this man deserves it. Thank you, and remember to thank Shuhei for his service.

Andrew Betteridge

Oh, hello there. I'm a sucker for great logo design, be it a band, movie or even a video game franchise. Simple, clean design language of logos are under-appreciated I feel. Some of my favourite logos are the classic gj from the amazing band glassjaw, the iconic skeleton from Jurassic park, and the bold left-aligned typeface of the Last of Us. Would love to hear what IP logos you guys love across different media! Cheers from the great white north

Jimbo

Hey Big Strong Men, Shuhei Yoshida is retiring from SIE after 31 years. Is this a sign the Sony of old is gone and we're going to get stuck with remasters and remakes of the same couple 1st party games? Have a great day!

WashedAF

Did Sony outsource their PS2 sales tracking to Maricopa County? Stop the count!

Koray Savas

Colin, After a month of not being able to redeem PlayStation Stars points for PSN Wallet funds, the feature has magically returned. Why has Sony put so little effort into this rewards program? Users have reached out to customer support for weeks with answers varying from “it’s being discontinued” to “each user gets different rewards options.” It would seem that Sony’s own reps aren’t even in the know. With the all the tribulations the service has experienced this year, what do you predict will happen next?

Trapgunner

With Shuhei leaving sie what is the likelihood of finally getting him on the show?

TheUnchartedWolf

Hey CDC, I recently watched a trilogy of great videos from "Daryl Talks Games" about how he tackled his gaming backlog by creating a spreadsheet and organizing his backlog in an attempt to finish the backlog. It got me inspired to make a spreadsheet of my own with a goal of actually playing the games on my backlog instead of just complaining about it. Would you guys ever consider doing something like this?

Kevin G

Hey CDC, have either of you heard about the story of PlayStation support being completely inept when dealing with the famous trophy hunter Hakoom's issue when his account was compromised? I highly encourage you guys to read the story or watch his video on YouTube. How can their support be so unfair to their own customers without any recourse? Even when dealing with people like Hakoom that have a professional relationship with PlayStation!

Dimitrios Rodriguez

Gentlemen SOS, This is for the entire community and every random individual that comes across this video/audio feed. If Chan can get box ANYBODY can get box. Everyone should have no excuse to talk to a man or woman or in between (shout out the LGBTQ+ community) ZERO. If you see or know someone, approach them; if you get it, you get it. If you take the L trying, take the L and move on. This guy fucked his mom, and he’s going to have a kid with another woman. Let that sink in & you're afraid to spit game & get rejected. Happy Thanksgiving.

Justin Black

Hey CDC, hosting Thanksgiving for the first time on Saturday this week. If you guys have any tips on being a gracious host please share them? Things to avoid, things to offer? Love yall and stay safe!

Matt Di Giacomo

Dearest Sacred Gents (and possibly lady), I recently started a new job in an office and sometimes enjoy playing PS Vita during lunch (maybe a few rounds of Hotline Miami or Super Stardust Delta). A few coworkers definitely took notice, and absolutely nobody knew that there was a Sony handheld that existed past the PSP. My question is this: If Sony were to re-enter the handheld market after so long (nearly 20 years depending who you ask), what move do they make to stand out against the Switch and Steamdeck? Is the Backbone and/or PlayStation portal already the answer here? Colin, do you still dust off the old Vita every now and again? I had the battery replaced a few years back and look to continue the cycle for as long as is possible. Something very special about that machine. Wish Sony supported it more. Keep on keeping on, gang, Happy Thanksgiving to all with love and adoration now and forever; Matt "Big Red" Di Giacomo P.S. LGI

Christian

Hey CDC-RW, Chris's comment last week about animals having no fucking idea what's going on due to climate change made me think of this Emperor Penguin that turned up in Australia. Look at this poor guy he has absolutely no fucking idea where he is, and apparently he tried to slide on the sand like it was ice which is just embarrassing. Good news is he was taken care of and recently released, hopefully he finds his way back home, if it hasn't melted yet: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-11-08/emperor-penguin-found-in-southern-wa-in-good-health/104572694

That’s what I thought too, but that PSN account has over 800 platinums lol. Is Barry a trophy whore? 🤔

Hi CDC , any plans for 30th anniversary PlayStation episodes for Sacred Symbols?

In highschool we were getting stoned one time and talking about something similair, my friend said if things feel good going out then why wouldn't it feel good going in? Solid logic. Still afraid to try though.

Chrispy

Hey babes, Dino Crisis and Resident Evil Director's Cut are now available without a PSN subscription. So I guess fuck me and everyone else who subbed for a month of Premium thinking it would be our only way to play these games for the foreseeable future. Personally I was only interested in Dino Crisis but the cost of the game now is cheaper than what I paid for the Premium tier. Fuck my ass. Why did they do me like this?

Gr8S

Hey nerds, I come from the future bearing good news. In 2026, Sony will announce that the PlayStation 2 has somehow sold 5 million more units, bringing the total to over 165 million. This trend will continue until 2042 when, sadly, you're all dead. However, the PS2 will reach however many units the Nintendo Switch sells + a few million units . Take that, Nintendo! Word to your mother, Gr8saiyaman

Caleb Greer

Greetings gentlemen, Chris, while revisiting an Olan Rogers sketch on YouTube called “When the Hammer Falls,” I organically stumbled upon a comment of yours on the video from 10 years ago. No shit; I couldn’t believe it. Now that you’re dipping back into YouTube more, can you provide the kids out there a brief rundown of the main skit comedy channels from early YouTube that folks need to educate themselves on? Thanks, and good luck on your videos

Carol

Hey Sacred Boys, I know this has nothing to do with gaming, but I need your input. I’m currently arguing with my boss at the moment over candy bars…….. He claims that M&Ms are candy bars and so far there are only 2 people who have agreed with him, but he’s insistent on his stance. Is he delusional or is he right? Here’s a list of his reasons -They’re right next to the candy bars -The packaging is in the shape of a candy bar -the reason why m&ms was created because chocolate bars would melt in soldiers equipment so m&ms gave them chocolate that wouldn’t ruin their equipment

Cai

Hey boys, The other day I was scrolling the PlayStation Store and noticed the phrase “Japanase Role Playing” within the “browse” section. I can only assume the employee responsible was ceremonially executed as the typo is no longer there. Just thought this was mildly amusing and didn’t know where else to bring this up. Have a great day and shout out to our Last Stand Emporer Brad Ellis ;)

Michael Elady

Hey guys, a few corrections and clarifications regarding the Alan Wake 2 sales and Remedy ROI discussion from last week: 1. The reported budget for Alan Wake 2 stands at approximately €70 million—€50 million for development and an additional €20 million for marketing. That’s around $74 million USD. This helps explain why selling 1.8 million copies of a $60 game (or $50 on PC) isn’t enough to fully recoup costs yet. 2. Epic Games funded the entire development and marketing of Alan Wake 2. This isn’t just a simple third-party exclusivity deal—it’s a publishing agreement. This explains why the game isn’t on Steam just yet. Epic hasn’t ruled out a Steam release in the future, but for now, it remains an Epic Games Store exclusive "for a long time." 3. Many people misunderstand the "ROI" figures Remedy provided in their reports. The data they shared doesn’t represent what’s needed to recoup costs. Instead, it shows what’s required for Remedy to achieve a 100% ROI, which means *doubling* their initial investment. A "50% ROI" would correspond to recouping their costs exactly. This can be a bit misleading, as "100% ROI" might sound like just breaking even, but it’s actually referring to doubling the investment. Thanks, and keep up the great work! Also, it's my 34th birthday today, so Chris, could you please pitch Hi-Fi Rush to Colin in your exquisite Trump voice? It would make my day!

Tatman2TheResQ

Howdy boys, I'm currently scrolling the PS Store, and I see For Honor rather high in the Best Selling list. I couldn't remember when it released, so I clicked on it to check. The store lists the release date as March 14, 2024. What is up with that? It's the PS4 version and not a special edition. I pray one day the store is everything we've ever wanted.

Robert Brown

Hi sacred men Shuhei Yoshida will be leaving PlayStation on January 15, 2025. How much of an impact do you feel he has had on where PlayStation is today?

Andy

Hey Fellas, It’s 2024 do we still need blockbuster movies? Television is the future. Can we stop pretending that movies are just as good? Every time I watch a new movie I instantly think that it would have been way better if it was a TV show. Shows like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Mad Men, The Wire, and the list goes on changed the game. What do you fellas think? Should we stop with movies and just focus on good Television shows?

Wibble

Hey y'all, Shadow of the Erd Tree being a game of the year contender is starting to feel like a MacGuffin. Every video game outlet I listen to seems to mention it and whether it belongs, but maybe that was the point all along. I won't pretend to understand how the whole awards process works, but Erd Tree has made a big enough boom for anyone who cares to comment. Is this all just some PR stunt to attract attention to the show? Also, does this make Erd Tree equivalent to Jake or Tyson in boxing terms?

Deemac

Hey Colin, would like to hear your thoughts on the news of Shuhei retiring from Sony, and the legacy he has left from his time there. Do you think this was an amicable parting? He has been there for so long that I don't think anyone would be surprised at him wanting a change or even a step back, but given Sony's recent history I guess this will be a question that comes up. Also curious does this make a potential SS+ appearance more likely now, which would be a dream guest imo. Cheers lads

Aaron Medina

Hello cdc, Chris Chan has recently made the news yet again, any thoughts? Thanks for the never ending content!

Extor

Hey Sacred Men, Life's been a drag recently. Dealing with heartbreak and other pain. Just wanted some words of encouragement from my favorite podcast. Much Love!

Seany Mac

What's good CDC, Why do y'all think the Skyrim style leveling system never took off in the greater gaming landscape? One naturally gets better at specific skills in life the more they train them (i.e. cooking, martial arts, etc.) so I felt implementing a version of this in an RPG made sense. Have a great Thanksgiving y'all!

Erik Roth

Hi gentlemen, illustrious leaker Billbil-Kun has PS Portal coming in black, a Helldivers 2 themed controller, and the Edge controller also in black. Thoughts? Is Sony doing too much with hardware to distract from lack of 1st party software?

Rayner 38

Hello CDC hope you’re all well My question is for you Colin and is this With Shuhei leaving Sony in January what are the chances of you snagging a sacred symbols plus interview with him in the future.such an interesting guy like shuhei would be a great show I’ll hang up and listen now.

Alex

Hey Lads I spent all of Tuesday this week listening to SS while walking around Ikea coming up with he perfect write in relation to one of the topics but now the moment has arrived i have completely forgotten but thank you all for entertainment especially in the boring times such as building furniture lots of love to you all in the 13 Colonies over there.

David Graham

Petition to get Chris-chan's child named Colin?

Jeffry311

Hello Sacred Crew, hope you all are well! I noticed something odd as I was doing my Thanksgiving shopping yesterday. While I was in the deli section, I realized that they had replaced Boar’s Head meats with Dietz & Watson. No doubt this is a response to the recent listeria outbreak, but have any of you seen similar changes at your local grocery stores? Thanks for always helping me through my long commutes to and from work. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Clark Petri

CDC but really Big D, I'll get right to the point: Drake is initiating a lawsuit against UMG over 'Not Like Us.' Is this the ultimate bitch move in a rap battle? Keep being awesome. Clark

Daniel Ross

Hey guys, With the news of Shuhei Yoshida leaving PlayStation in January where do you think he will go next? His experience being with the company since the PlayStation's inception would surely make him a highly valuable asset on the market. Also, would becoming free from Sony PR restrictions open him up to coming onto Sacred in the future? Thanks as always

Buster Crabcakes

Greetings Slitkickers, Colin, I know that you hate end of the year lists, but I was very disappointed that you guys didn't discuss your favorite games of 2023 last year. We listen to you guys for your personal perspectives, and that includes your feelings on the games you enjoyed playing most this year. I humbly propose a completely opt-in discussion of your five favorite games of 2024. No need to rank them, just tell us what games you enjoyed most of what you played. End of the year lists expose people to games they may not have otherwise played, and I enjoy adding games I missed to my backlog. I'm sure you already have a roadmap for the rest of the year's Last Stand programming or have even recorded it already, so I will patiently wait for the new year for a potential Sacred Symbols +. Thanks for all you do, and happy holidays!

JP

Hey Sacred Gentlemen, What are your thoughts on the videos of the Butterball workers allegedly fucking the turkeys? Could these perhaps be Sacred listeners that have been indoctrinated by the years of calls to "keep fucking that chicken"? Have a great day and please stop fucking that turkey!

Dick Whiskey

Gents, It doesn't have to be every week - and definitely no usernames - but please share more of the dramatic exit surveys, if you're up to it. I never not find them fucking hilarious. Thanks for all the content, and stay frosty

Persona 3, 4, and 5 actually do have animes. And they’re almost identical to the games.

Project Polaris aka The Witcher 4 is finally in full production. What would you guys like to see improved upon for this one?

Greetings CDC Just wanted to piggyback off of the Fabulous Moolah getting obliterated with Jeff Jarrett's guitar. I feel like Botchamania would be right up your alley, a YouTube channel that specializes in showing every single time wrestlers miss their marks or just fumble around so badly that it becomes ridiculous. They just hit #500 on their channel, so there are plenty of laughs to go through in the catalog. https://youtube.com/@botchamaniaagain7613?si=fi4CukxiCsF-9juv Hope all is well, and maybe, just maybe, The Gobbledy Gooker will show up for your Thanksgiving dinner

DetectiveAmazing

I never thought that Sacred Symbols needed a fourth chair…but it does. And his name is Shuhei Yoshida!

lunarpizza

What's up guys, My finance just showed me last night the craziness that is Hello Kitty resellers. People camping out, running right when it opens attacking each other and the lady in CA who camps out all night. My question for you is how did Gamestop handle opening nights so well with way more people to handle? Are gamers just that much less trouble to deal with? These stores are getting shit on for letting these things happen but every opening night at a gamestop I've seen video from have been very chill and no one's fighting each other. Maybe they need to bring in some old Gamestop staff. If nothing else, Colin now has a possible new YouTube obsession. Hope everyone's Thanksgivings are terrific.
