After a disastrous showing in 2023, Geoff Keighley and his team put together arguably their best show for the 10th anniversary of The Game Awards! While not perfect, major issues with pacing, presenters, and speech time seemed to be ironed out. It also doesn't hurt that the show was chockful of insane announcements. Of course, we get into The Black Rock who is delivering not just one, but two massive RPGs in a single year thanks to The Outer Worlds 2, but also a staggering list of other games. An Okami sequel is real as is Naughty Dog's new sci-fi IP. Onimusha is back as is a new IP for Yakuza developer, RGG. They're not just working on Project Century at RGG, but also reviving Virtua Fighter. Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country, massive showing in their own right, end up as footnotes due to the seismic amount of announcements packed into this show. The list goes on much longer than that, but we'll leave you a little something to listen to now. Enjoy!

It really was a good show. Exciting games to look forward to, the winner’s speeches were great, and the end speech from Larian’s game director especially was legendary.

Rebirth on PC and no Xbox? I guess we're not gettin those games till the trilogy is totally complete. Damn.

Tim Robinson

Onimusha is being made by Capcom, not RGG

Shout out to Matty for staying in the right lane as a slow driver. To many people driving under the speed limit in the left lane here in Texas and it’s the worst.

Hustle&Motiv8

Personally I’m super excited for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The new Ninja Gaiden game looks awesome too. Matty play Ninja Gaiden 2 on nes for Retro Rebound its awesome

I just love COG he is awesome. Such a good dude man , COG is like the one person that could never truely annoy me, just an all around likable guy.

The Metaphor comment at the end sounds like one you'd make if you haven't played a JRPG since the late 90s, or haven't scratched the surface of another ATLUS game period. Lol.

Of all the announcements that showed gameplay, Project Century was hands down the biggest highlight for me. Like Cog said, it looks SICK.

A-a-ron

That was well reasoned. Great job guys. #TGADD

Anyone know which bit of the Nightreign trailer showed Bloodborne characters/monsters? I didn't see any Bloodborne and assumed it wouldn't be included. Hoping I just missed it!

This thumbnail took over as the thumbnail for every LSM podcast episode in my iPhone Podcast app from my PATREON link lol.

100% agree with Cog. Metaphor was my choice for goty with Astrobot as a very close second, so I was very happy not only with the goty but the whole show, but I would also hate if Erdtree had won goty (even though I loved it, it’s a fucking DLC).

Breno Bezerra Bluhm

Also people saying Matty hated Astrobot clearly don’t listen to the show. He shattered a little kid’s dream getting the last physical copy of the game at the store! That’s how much he likes the game 😂

#TGADD I absolutely agree that this was the best Game Awards yet, by far. I was bummed that we still haven’t heard more on State of Decay 3 but with everything that we did hear, I’m not too upset. Merry Christmas, Dukes!

Woah that intro write in about driving really hit me, I had the exact same experience earlier this year. 25 and didn’t bother with my license due to an irrational fear but decided it was time. I had that anxiety and panic for about a month and a half afterwards but what helped me out was I was finally able to go to the gym anytime I wanted without relying on public transit or having to pay for ride shares all the time so I committed to going daily. It was about a 30 min drive there for me so I was banking minimum an hour experience each day until one day I realized that I just zoned out the entire ride and from there on the anxiety went away and now I can’t imagine how I lived without my license for so long. It gets to the point where you don’t really want to be driven by anyone and your car becomes like a second home, a place where you’re most comfortable. At least that’s been my experience.

The last 5 minutes of the show is the best DD content ever. I’ve rewound it 5 times. #DDthroatcoat

Watch out for Matty’s Teabag! 😉 It’ll come from outta nowhere.

Trill Spencer

Cog really referred to the biggest reveal of the show as “almost a footnote” 😭

Casey Cieslikowski

Jesus lol how hard is it to move the dog further from where you are recording?

Mr. Weeb

I kind of hated the Intergalactic reveal. The graphics are stunning, and I'm sure the game will be fun....but I hate the retro-future nonsense. No way are they using CDs in the future. No way are they using old crappy CRTs. And no one in the world uses a hair clipper that way. Retrofuture makes sense for movies made in the 70s and 80s...cause what do they know? It just rubbed me all wrong for this game.

Cogs most anticipated character in gaming 2025: Split fiction Glizzy

Daddy T

Cog, just so you’re aware if you’re not already, that Amir dude has a high enough position at Tencent, I wouldn’t be so quick to sing his praises, if they eat up Ubisoft then the layoff armageddon is on
