It's time once more to conduct our annual fantasy draft for Metacritic scoring, this time for the year of our lord 2025. For the uninitiated, the rules are simple. Each of the three hosts of Sacred Symbols -- Colin, Chris, and Dustin -- select 12 games (for 36 total), thus constructing a 'team' of the presumably strongest upcoming releases. But not just any games will do; indeed, to be selected, a title must either be confirmed or reasonably assumed for launch within the 2025 calendar year, specifically on a PlayStation platform (whether that's PS5, PS4, or PSVR2). Seemingly arbitrary Metacritic averages will tell the rest of the story, and we'll update you on the results in one year. To that end, we likewise go over our selections for 2024, figure out who won and who lost, and update the historical standings, which will resonate throughout time. As a post-show stinger, we then welcome Summon Sign's Brad Ellis to the show in order to go over the results of our VGA betting special from this past December. The results may surprise you... and the consequences of losing are quite serious.

Have I missed it or did we ever get a follow up on the Sacred Bets for TGA?

Jill Sandwich

I'm so excited to listen to this after work!

Bryant c

Loved this ep

Trevor Myers

I look forward to this episode every year, definitely one of the best you do

Zac

The audience absolutely would NOT be pissed that the least weeby host has to do the Naruto headband by himself that's literally the funniest possible outcome idk where tf Brad gets off making the outcome less funny! Colin and Dustin win together and Chris loses alone

Directional Joy

Not a fan of how the results were decided but 🤷‍♂️ I love LSM so we shall see. I’m not going anywhere. 😀

Bound Geek

In the future, for ties, Brad needs to have a couple standby questions ready. That they'll have to answer from memory. Like, how many trailers aired total? Or how many jokes did the Muppets make? Etc.

Jacob Lesperance

Boys... Having Chris as the sole loser would've been hilarious 😂

Matt Llewellyn

Colin keeps saying there isn’t any indication that Clair Obscur is coming out in 2025 but it lists 2025 on the splash screen at the end of at least one trailer.

Bogey

Very much agree having the winner be decided by a coin toss or a random number would’ve sucked. I think next time you should just place a single tie breaker bet for the next week, like how many tweets will Xbox/playstation have or how many Switch leaks will there be in the next week. Length of the next video game trailer on the PlayStation YouTube channel. Shit like that

The Comedian

How did any of you not pick the GOTY Astro bot last year?

NeO JD

Think Chris has it for next year. Props for not wanting to settle the score by luck. Looking forward to the face off.

Diddy’s Dong Quest

Colin has been talking about “getting a trophy” for like 3 years now 🤣🤣. Bro, just get it! Isn’t there a website or something?

Ross Stoddart

Next year plan a tiebreaker question 🤣 agree that deciding by luck would have been shit though. Also having questions about the Xbox event probably levels the playing field a bit. Game on!

Michael Mashpotato

This is S Tier content. Also I like the street fighter 2 turbo idea for the tiebreaker.

Adam Barnes

Sup Colin, I’m in signage and one of the services we offer; trophies. Hit me up. P.S. the kicker is that I’m in Australia 🤘

Lunar Tear

I think Dustin would really like Trails. I know on LSM, Matty aside, more recent entries have been characterized as a poor man's persona, but in truth they're so much more than that. In fact, the first five games were nothing remotely like Persona. Extending even further to the original Legend of Heroes trilogy, especially. One of these days, Dustin, I do hope you'll check them out. I really have a strong feeling you'd be into them.

Joseph Gedgaudas

The thing I'm disappointed by is that Brad thought we'd be satisfied deciding the tiebreaker with a coin toss.

Save The Game Media

I like these episodes but have some feedback: 1) I still think Fantasy Critic Games is just a better way to do this. You’d also have counter picks and the big thing: opportunity to pick up newly announced games! 2) How was Colin allowed to pick No Rest For The Wicked? It already has review scores

Glen Yelenovic

Should allow 1 keeper pick for a delayed game. It counts as your pick 1 round higher from the round picked this year

Painlotsapain

I'm a little confused why they think noone is going to care about Assassin's Creed. Heard this point mentioned a couple of times now. Valhalla was the most profitable game in the series and sold several million units. Why would all the people that liked that game suddenly not like the next entry?

Kladknee .

Love the Ep. buddies! Happy we get one more flash round lolll

Michael Ryan

No one picked Hades 2...first one is a 93 on metacritic.

MomsLikeMe

Still some of my favorite content! Gotta do the snake draft though!

Gooch Gobbler

I love the graphics! So much easier to follow along and keep track of everything, would love small list for GOTY or list based episodes. I promise I am listening, just not completely zoned in like an episode of the Last of Us

Gooch Gobbler

Respectfully, Dustin has the most bitch picks, Indiana Jones this year and Last of Us Part 2 last year. Hollow victories

Derek D

It's a video game podcast!!! C vs. D Street Fighter 2 best 2/3 come on!
