Following the delay of Fable, it was a coin toss on who would get the nod to follow up Xbox's 2025 summer showcase with a Developer Direct of their own. Now, we have the answer. No, it's not Gears Of War: E-Day and no it's not Halo. It's The Outer Worlds 2! Combined with this reveal, IGN posted over 10 minutes of Outer Worlds 2 gameplay! While it pops the bubble ahead of its full inflation, the Dukes were excited to lay eyes on the game following its December reveal. What has changed? What has improved? To Matty’s point, shadow dropping Oblivion remake is very weird. I think the last shadow drop from a Microsoft studio was Hi Fi Rush, and people loved that game, but it sold so poorly that they closed the studio, and I think the shadow drop played a significant part in the poor sales of that game.

If gamepass was much more vibrant I can see a shadow drop being a good play but with how stagnant it is, I think you need a little bit of a marketing push to drive sales to offset those dev costs

I don’t know if I’d wager that either are fair, but you can at least expect Sony games to be heavily discounted years down the road. Meanwhile.. BOTW (2017) is currently on sale at Best Buy for whopping $54 😅🤣

Solid listen gentleman, but I wanted to speak on some of these Switch upgrades. The price model is $10 for the ‘next gen’ NS2 upgrade for the frames, resolution, etc. It’s an additional $10 ($20) for games that have upgrades and new DLC like Kirby and the Jamboree TV DLC. Sony did a similar thing after Forbidden West which I believe was the last free upgrade. I’m a NSO subscriber so I’ll take my ‘free’ upgrades and pay for the Jamboree expansion as the game is a family staple in our house and online. That said, this makes me appreciate Xbox so much more. They’ve never charged for full next gen upgrades and I appreciate the green team for that.

Not sure if other people feel the same, but for me, AI is a slippery slope. I get using it as a tool, like the analogy used about hammers and drills. The issue is that humans don’t know when to stop. They will always chase convenience at any cost. It may be a tool now and in the near future, but how long until corporations push it to the max? How long until the ultra rich push it too far, and start cutting payroll as much as possible? Literally every single time advancements in tech happen, humans abuse it. It’ll be no different here. Fuck AI. Shut it down completely or else they will definitely take it too far. Don’t give them an inch.

Good listen as always boys! I think some of that Nintendo smoke was coming because the whole industry has seemingly shrugged their shoulders at the obvious ripping of the consumer that is going on. You guys came off pretty sanguine about it. I've been a little irritated myself at the overall Nintendo glazing going on from the media. Dukes, love you guys but Dustin started putting the games they are discussing in the What We're Playing section. I'd really appreciate it on this show too! Sometimes I miss 3 seconds and have to jump around a lot to find what game you are referring to. You don't have to put the exact time though that would be nice, just a list of the games. Thanks!
