If something never goes away, you're never able to miss it. That's why there's an incredible amount of cynicism surrounding The Last of Us Complete, yet another re-release of the 2013 original and its 2020 sequel, a package that combines both games into something more accessible and affordable for PlayStation 5 owners. Naturally, this is heavily tied into the return of The Last of Us on HBO, and clearly this sort of thing isn't really aimed at us at all. In fact, it's likely very smart business. But that doesn't mean we're longing for something else. Anything else, really. For once. Plus: PS+ price increases slam headlong into Latin America, Portal gets some key UI and UX updates catered toward streaming users, PlayStation's concert series seemingly suffers poor ticket sales, and more. Then: Listener inquries! Should console manufacturers limit hardware sales to their most hardcore audience first? Considering the length of both Uncharted 4 and TLoU2, should be expect Intergalactic to be a very long game? Is the "games are too expensive" argument ultimately a dead end? Can Colin mystify his sons with the '90s tech magic of WYSIWYG?

While it's objectively funny with how many times there's been a release of TLOU games, I really don't understand people actually being *mad* at this. Obviously it's just a package that's put together to try and capitalize on the new TV season, in an attempt to potentially get new players who get sucked in by the HBO show. It's clearly not aimed at the likes of us here who are deep into gaming and have more than likely played these games already (if you wanted to). It's a low effort thing to put together, and it's not like it's taken valuable development time away from ND which they could be using on something else (and we already know what they've been working on for a while). I'd bet you see similar packages for the Horizon and modern God of War games when those TV shows release, for the same reasons. I saw this trailer and chuckled, but it doesn't affect me at all so I just moved on. I guess I don't understand the outrage from some people on this. It'd be different imo if we didn't already know what Naughty Dog are working on next - but we do.

I always laugh at this too, dmc 3 and re 4 have been re released a dozen times and no one seems to care. I'm sure we'll see similar stuff for Horizon and god war when those shows debut.

I was really proud of Colin for immediately correcting himself on the TLOU2 spoilercast after he misgendered the fictional transgender child videogame character-Lev, by using “she” pronouns. We all know Colin fully believes children can be born into the wrong bodies and it isn’t simply a social contagion like some bigots believe. I am proud of him for staying true to himself and what his true beliefs are. You see, some people are cowards. They personally don’t believe in trans ideology but they’ll capitulate on their podcasts by using preferred pronouns because they’re afraid of the reaction from a portion of their audience and inevitably losing money. But not Colin. That’s why I’m proud of him. He was brave enough to live out his values no matter the consequences. However, I would appreciate it if he issued an apology for Dagan misgendering Lev multiple times. We all know that seeing overwhelmingly female features on a biological female with your eyes provides no way to assess someone’s sex/gender but he did it anyways. Colin, it would mean a lot to the community if you didn’t allow this to slide. You know how fictional transgender children in video games should be referred to. Please continue to be brave and do the right thing. Consistency matters. This could be a teachable moment for Dagan and no more fictional trangender children in videogames will have to be hurt. Thank you.

As a result, there is no more Internet, and people are excessively guarded about their identity, to the point of appearing only masked in public. It's a pretty good read. I’d recommend it

I really don’t know if want to see a third Last of Us game personally. This new edition they’re releasing is called complete, that kinda indicates to me that this is it. I know it’s been said that Naughty Dog has ideas for where to go in a third game, but I cannot see any real meaningful threads I would want to pull on. Other than maybe Ellie trying to find the fireflies.

Totally agree on TLOU 2. I’m 42, and it’s the best game I’ve played since Mario 64. Replayed it recently and was blown away. Elden Ring, for me, along with Cyberpunk came close. Resident Evil 1, TLOU P1 and Halo 1 all up there too. TLOU P2 is a work of art. Flawless gameplay too.

If anything post-apocalyptic media shows the world in a state that is too neat, often not thinking far into the future on things breaking and decomposing. Walk into a shed that hasn't been opened in a year and it'll already be dusty, and full of spiderwebs - pretty much what you see in these 30years after the apocalypse takes. Worst thing is post-apocalyptic media is usually the cars. Maintenance aside, gasoline being good to drive after 20years, when in reality it would be useless after 4-5 years, provided it was sealed very well (diesel ages even faster) is of course rubbish. Rubber for tires is similarly only good for ~5 years, after that it starts flaking and falling apart. Hell, at work we often need to place coated paper color posters on our windows, and if they're exposed to sun everyday they are barely readable after 6 months. Posters like the ones for the warewolf movies in Tlou, placed in the open and behind glass, would be gone even faster, since the glass would focus sunlight and accelerate the process. Sun alone will disintegrate anything but concrete given enough time(lacquered wood, plastics, paper, etc) but add in water floating freely in the buildings in Tlou, and even the walls will start to crumble. Not in 30 years, mind you - months, or sometimes hours if the stream is big and strong enough (anyone ever flooded a neighbor?). Of course the streams we come across in Tlou's destroyed skyscrapers and houses might be new, but not all of them, and not with these giant holes in the ceilings.

I read all the comments to see if someone was as upset as I was that none of them appear to believe that PlayStation games having amazing scores?! It appears no one was, which I feel is a shame. I think a games score is very important and believe that GoW, TLOU, HZD, and etc have amazing scores. But then again I could just be one of the niche nerds that enjoys a good score, lol. I did go see Hans Zimmerman back in February and it might be my favorite concert experience
