Grand Theft Auto VI promises to be the biggest video game (and likely entertainment product, full stop) in history. But unfortunately, it's been delayed. It'll come out just over a year from when this episode publishes, and a brand new trailer indicates it'll launch with all of GTA's essential trappings: Cars, guns, insane characters, a crazy story, and -- of course! -- lots and lots of crime. What are our fresh thoughts on GTA6? And do we think it'll make its new May 2026 release date? There's a lot of other news to get to this week, too. For starters, a new PlayStation first party studio has been revealed, though we already sorta knew about them. They're called teamLFG, they've been splintered off from Bungie, and they're making a more lighthearted multiplayer game. Is there cause to be optimistic about this project? Plus: The next Xbox domino falls, as Gears of War will arrive on PlayStation 5 this August, something that was completely unthinkable just a couple of years ago. But what about the other Gears games? And when's Halo coming over, too? Later: Mafia: The Old Country gets a release date, EA indicates Battlefield 6's reveal is imminent, Death Stranding 2 is getting its own DualSense controller, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Are we ever going to get another PlayStation Showcase? With the US threatening tariffs on foreign movies, should we be worried about foreign games suffering a similar fate? Why does Colin fail to see the intrinsic value of the modding community? Is Bradley Ellis slowly-but-surely taking Last Stand over from the inside?Timestamps:0:00:00 - Intro

Gears of War finally coming to PS is still so wild to me

Fella

Shot a long, thick rope after getting this notification

Mr. Pang

Is anyone else getting black and white “haunted” versions of the thumbnails on Spotify or is this just unique to me

Matthew Novak

It's like that for me on AntennaPod

NLo23c

Just fired up the podcast. Hoping there’s no mention of Limp Bizkit 🤞🏼

Tom G

Love a nice Fiver, LFG!! (Pun intended)

Andres

no labels for the games in "what we've been playing"? i thought the compromise was to list them but not specifically timestamp them.

My last name is Norwegian descent and it was changed slightly for pronunciation sake, my first name is fairly common however. But there’s a dude in my town (100k people) with the exact same first and last name as me who was in a local band and now is a Tae Kwon Do instructor. It actually comes up in job interviews and such occasionally 😂

My last name is Norwegian descent and it was changed slightly for pronunciation sake when my great grandparents immigrated to the US. my first name is fairly common however. But there’s a dude in my town (100k people) with the exact same first and last name as me who was in a local band and now is a Tae Kwon Do instructor. It actually comes up in job interviews and such occasionally 😂

Russell Robinson

Yeah I noticed that. Kind of annoying. I mainly wanted to hear Colin's thoughts on E33 but early in he said he didn't start it yet.

Yet

Can’t believe gta 6 is actually coming out it’s been so long

Diddy’s Lube Guy

Expedition 33 is the second turn-based game I’ve ever finished. The first was The Stick of Truth!

Colin’s Jellybean-Shaped Head

The same thing happened to my PSN account several years ago, but I was fortunate enough to get a very nice young woman (who I had developed a flirty rapport with in the first few minutes) and who told me that older accounts usually get locked during such scenarios but that she was fairly certain I was being truthful. She gave me back control of my account, and felt like I had dodged a bullet. It’s absolutely unacceptable that Sony does this to people.

Colin predicted the delay - it’s why he picked it in his fantasy! He is an entertaining pundit but please

Dante B

Guys. I’m sorry your dog is dead. Or your best friend has cancer. Or you got dumped. Or whatever. Truly. But can we please stop?? Sort it out.

Dustin Furman

Dustin here but come on now. The draft was picked 5 months ago.

Bisexual Lighting Rigger

Dude it is worth the risk. That game alone would win the fantasy if it came out.

Sam

Yes, precisely when a prediction would have been noteworthy - not days before an earrings call? I am just joking btw

Evan Westendorf

My only issuew Brad is that, while yes, I understand people flub a bunch of things while recording hundreds of hours of podcasts, Brad has by FAR the most dyslexic energy of anyone on the team. Dude struggles to read basic English, and seemingly doesnt have the capability to sound stuff out, at least a few times an episode. That, and always saying "yeah" or "uh huh" most of the time anyone else is talking and then not having anything substantive to add. I like the guy, but cmon, dude. Dont be such a Cali Bro stereotype.

KillnStrangers

They should really rename the podcast into “In Some Sense”.

Tristan Kimball

Video game collectibles being what gets Colin to use chat gpt is perfect

Tom Hannay

Chris, gamers aren't saying "this game isn't for me, why are they doing it?", they're saying "this game isn't for me, I don't want them to do it". We understand why, we just don't like it.

Diddy’s Lube Guy

Colin growing up in the 90’s and not liking The Simpsons is so asinine I don’t even know where to begin.

Diddy’s Lube Guy

Seriously begging him to read the inquiries aloud to himself before the show. We pay as customers and it’s simply unprofessional.

Mike1core

Saturday night kinda drunk smoking a black&mild listening to these boys 👍🏽

KillnStrangers

Dustin never says it, it’s only Colin & Chris. It’s gotten ridiculous.

Misanthropic_Altruist

I guess I’m asinine as well. I couldn’t stand my friends quoting it all the time. Some people just have a different sense of humor. I’m American and dry Brit humor spoke more to me for some reason.

Misanthropic_Altruist

Colin being disappointed in Mafia: The Old Country not having an open world is bewildering to me. He’s been championing more linear 20-30 hour games for a while, as he should be; we need more of them. I’m personally thrilled that there are more high quality games coming out that respect my time and wallet. Expedition 33 is a perfect example of what games should strive to be. I hope to see more of these. I loved Rebirth but I’ll be fine with one of those once every 1 or 2 or even 3 years.

Jeffrey Rommel

Wow, I’m surprised to hear how much even Chris likes Expedition 33, very interesting!

Michael Rogers

The suicide sign off is never not funny to me. Everytime I picture someone swaying gently or bled out in a tub while Sacred plays on a Bluetooth speaker in the background. Keep it up gents.

Black Detective in Dexter

Colin uses this phrase almost every other sentence. As someone that likes using a varied vocabulary, he needs to retire "in some sense" for a little while. Find a new "filler" phrase.

NeO JD

Really weird considering him and Chris both love Mafia 1

Misanthropic_Altruist

Yeah, Chris actually didn't share Colin's disappointment and is excited about it, as am I. I've never played a mafia game but dig the setting here and the gameplay looks fun. A well written mafia story is also welcome.

Bailey Callis

Rockstar out here putting naughtydog graphics in an open world and multiplatform. Absolute black magic

Michael Ryan

Indiana Jones really could've done with a few more months of polishing, improving the jank and bug fixing. Going through wall cracks I could see inside characters heads at times. The sudden jump to standing transition from getting out of water onto land was disorientating and looked horrible. The boss fights were pretty much all the same and needed more variety. Chase/escape sequences were very well done. So many terrific moments and the areas of Vatican and Egypt were great. Main side quests were also very well done. Something about the cutscenes felt really off at times as well. The sudden switching from a shot to black screen to new scene was strangely done(look at the ending cutscene).

Garry

Come on Dustin the way you said it during last weeks podcast Colin actually groaned and said you where putting him off it. Now you did explain further but you could actually hear Colin groan in the background lol.

Bailey Callis

Can low key feel like Dustin is really starting to resent the audience

Bartevious

Skyrim is inherently a very modable game. I agree Chris it would be huge with or without, but Bethesdas embracing of the modding community has definitely kept it from limping along in the 2020s to keeping a consistent jog. The 20 releases have kept it in the forefront of everyone’s mind as well
