Still disagree with Gene on his user review stance, and now I'm just disappointed by his baseless insults. Brad cherry picked two poorly written/conceived reviews and used them as evidence that none can be trusted. Let's flip it around. Are all journalist scores void because an outlet gave Hog Leg a negative review for reasons that had nothing to do with the game? Or what about the Kotaku review that spoke negatively about the PS5 for reasons outside of the actual console itself? If I use those as evidence that no journalist can be trusted, would you accept that as a valid argument? No, because that's ridiculous. User reviews and journalistic reviews both need to be ready the same way. You need to parse through the criticisms and decide which are valid or invalid. But apparently that demonstrates illiteracy to Gene? That's just such a bad faith and nasty thing to say just for the sake of being derisive. Very sad coming from Gene cause I respect his opinion on games even when I don't agree, but apparently I'm illiterate for having the ability to read a user review and decide for myself if the user is making valid criticisms.

"People that like user reviews are illiterate" doesn't seem like a mild comment to me. As I said, it's intentionally had faith and derisive. And I do understand that saying they're illiterate is a joke, but the overall tone is that people who use user reviews or "cite them in arguments," as Gene said, are stupid. You're correct Zac. Gene brought this up this week based upon my comments from two weeks ago. It must have triggered him or something to bring it up again and eulogize on it. I agree that Brad gave examples of two straw mans as to why you shouldn't trust user reviews but if you're so confident in your position you wouldn't do that. There are always some crap user reviews out there because there are hundreds or thousands of submitted reviews on a particular game. Yet it's easy to ignore those and read others. It isn't hard to do your own research on any particular topic or game.

As someone who does admittedly get a bit annoyed by interruptions but totally understands and accepts why they happen, I really appreciate that Gene has noticeably tried to improve and address it. Wouldn't have minded if he didn't, like I said I totally get it and accept that it's how conversation is, I still notice and appreciate it. Good work Gene and everybody for the great conversations!

Yes I was the person Micah was talking about at the beginning of the podcast in relation to not being happy with the mini spoiler cast of expedition 33 on last week's show. Just to make things clear....I heard loud and clear the warnings for spoilers.. My issue was with the game being spoiled on this podcast, when it's not coming out for Switch and spoiling the game till the end of the show. I did not appreciate my comment being deleted from the second spoiler cast when I was just expressing my frustrations in a constructive manner.
