I'm surprised that every podcast I've heard that has brought up Mario Kart World and future wants, a custom knockout tour editor has not been brought up. With the interconnected tracks, it shouldn't be difficult to customize starting and ending locations.

I love hearing stories of people playing games with their parents. My dad is confused by video games. Does not understand them at all. My mom on the other hand used to play Mario kart 64 and guitar hero with my brother and me. She loved guitar hero so much because it had all her favorite rock jams that she grew up with. I introduced her to Rage Against the Machine, Bulls on Parade, through guitar hero 2 and that was one of her favorite songs to play. She made her name DEBSTAR at the end of each song. Her name was Debbie. RIP in peace mom. Fuck cancer.

She was a legend. One year at Christmas when guitar hero 3 came out my cousins had just gotten it and they were all new to it, but my mom and I had already been playing it and all of my cousins and my aunt and uncle were tripping out that she was good enough to play on hard. They were cheering and shit hahaha awesome times.

To clarify on Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, despite the visual fidelity the budget was only around 80m, which is on the low end of American produced AAA game. Being a stylized game, vs a photo realistic game significantly reduces costs. Nintendo benefits from more stylized games too, but also a cheaper Japanese work base.
