Last year, Sony launched it's service-based third-person shooter Concord, and it bombed worse than virtually any PlayStation-developed title in history. In fact, it was received so poorly that Sony disappeared it off the market in a matter of two weeks, gave everyone their money back, and snuffed the entire project out of existence while closing the studio that made it. Fast-forward more than a year, though, and Concord has kinda-sorta returned. Tech-savvy enthusiasts have revived the game on private servers, but Sony has already caught wind of it all and are working to nip it in the bud. Do we really need Concord to return? To Colin's point about letting your PS Plus subscription run out so you can avail of these discounts, I started doing that a couple years ago, and I'm surprised more don't do this now that we kinda know what strategy PS has for their Black Friday discounts (ie not giving any to existing members). My current subscription runs out next week, and given that the sales last a couple weeks, I'll have plenty time to resub for another year discounted, to then be able to do the same next year. I'll be able to get a year PS Premium at like €102, which is just over 20 quid more than a year of just essential. I don't use the Premium features all that much(I'll play the odd trial or classic game, but now with the streaming perk I might use more), but that's more than worth it for me over the course of 12 months, when I'd still have Essential or Extra anyway.

My subscription runs out in July. But I have another good hack for people. Check how much it costs to upgrade from essential to premium a month before its up. Usually its like 4 bucks to upgrade to premium and immediately switch back to essential. I do this and play some of those day one games that come to premium. I played Stray and ape escape last year. This year I played Animal Well and Ghost of Tsushima. All for an extra 4 bucks for the last month.

Important notice: the Ghost of tsushima directors cut PS5-Upgrade (from ps4 directors Cit) for 30 schillings is a psn-system error! Normally it cost as all the other upgrades 10€/$. It even says this in the PSN store description. The problem is that if you someday bought GoT Legends standalone the system thinks you have not the ps4 directors cut but the normal ps4 Edition. So in case you want to upgrade your ps4 GoT Directors Cut to the ps5 Version, you have to contact the f*uckin unproffessional PS support and ask them to delete the Legends Licence from your account. as i had to do :/

I think the game award chats are funny and a good way to express our little opinions. What’s obvious to one is not obvious to another. Example - Game audio being an obvious win for Arc Raiders is hilarious to me. Not because it isn’t amazing - but as a longggg time battlefield fan, you’ve heard this soundscape before. In fact, some of the audio loops are thee exact replicas of their old BF3 counterparts. It is good. That audio team loves to use a high mid, metallic expression for their soundstage. It’s just, ARC withstanding, been heard before. I think it is the 2nd best sounding game of the year behind BF6. The dynamism in that title is unbelievable. And yeah - AI usage should disqualify immediately. I know we love to prognosticate and nuance these discussions, but that’s the line in the sand for me.

Enjoyed the talk about ragebait culture/social media grifters/etc. The original sin of social media, I think, was broadcasting this message to the world that "everyone has something to say." The reality is that *not* everyone has something to say—not something original, constructive, or useful, anyway. Some people just have nothing to add to a conversation. And that's okay! It doesn't make them worthless as people; it just means that they should probably focus their energies elsewhere. Unfortunately, they don't do that, and we wind up with what you see today: grifters, rage-baiters, drive-by commenters/tweeters, etc etc. That said, I don't think there's really any stopping the social media machine at this point, so to Colin's point, all you can do is gauge whether or not you have anything interesting to say yourself, say it if so, engage with people who want to have an earnest conversation, and disregard the bad actors.

All sides were objectively reading into what Chris meant when he said "Thoughts and Prayers" Some took it as a pretty distasteful comment on the general vocal reaction with minimal to no actual action, others took it as him mocking Charlies death. He clarified without any ambiguity after the fact that he meant the former and not the latter. You are not calling him insincere for making that clarification because you believed it was the latter not the former regardless of clarification and ignoring the fact that two most commented posts in LSM history were overwhelmingly in Chris' defence from a center right leaning audience. You are choosing to be annoyed about something that, at very worst, was miscommunicated and then clarified upon due to literal business necessity. All that said, Chris is obviously more moderate in this sector of the internet than his own. Just calling it what it is lol it'd be silly to disagree with that, we all adjust to the group we are in.
