You can def judge a performance in languages you don’t know. 😄

Honestly good take it Collin if you don't speak the language you cant really judge a performance in a game. Also charlie cox didnt deserve it over higgs.

Like Brad mentioned, Yakuza is a prime example. You can tell who’s a major actor putting in work and who’s just a random reader. Emotion, nuance, things still come through in a performance.

Ehhh I can see that sort of. It takes a lot out of it not understanding it for me. Reading instead of watching the facial expressions and experience is not as enjoyable for me personally. But you can tell when there is effort I would say certainly so fair enough. I guess the question isn't do I like it lol

I also haven't attempted yakuza in that manner. Ill give it a try next go round and see what you mean!

You can try it with any game. For both AC Shadows and Yotei, I played the beginning with both languages to see which I preferred. Shadows I went with Japanese, but Yotei I went with English. It’s all preference really. Another random use case is music. There’s a lot of songs in other languages that I can’t translate to you word for word but the essence. Persona’s music is a good example of this. Bangers in Japanese that I didn’t know the context for until I looked up the translations.
