Working 8 of OT isn't crunch! It's like an extra hour and 45 minutes a day. It is worrying ND feels like extra hours are necessary to make a good internal demo

Agreed. I work at Costco and it’s holiday season. I’ve worked OT almost every day for the last few weeks. It’s not that bad and it’s not crunch… I see that we’re busy and that the store needs it. I enjoy helping, but I know everyone’s different but I think people need to relax on the “crunch” is always bad crap.

I'm excited the mega man guide is out, but also very disappointed that the kickstarter hasn't been fulfilled before handing it out to other retailers. I've not received my copy yet, but anyone who didn't bother with the kickstarter can get one on Amazon right now. Kinda shitty to bypass the core audience that made it possible, but that's just my opinion.

Having listened to them, I didn’t expect them to get on a soapbox about it, but there are a couple interesting wrinkles in the story I would have liked them to talk about. Not a huge deal either way.

this was universally true maybe 10 years ago, but their desktop computer game has gotten on point. I have a Mac Studio M3 and it kicks the dick in half of any PC I have ever built before it. Never had to do a single bit of troubleshooting (and I do all sorts of taxing stuff with it, 4K video editing, 3d modeling and rendering etc). It was also absurdly, stupidly expensive, which is the major downside, but my company helped me finance it so that helps. Also? Works just fine for gaming with Crossover, I got Elden Ring running at a smooth 60 fps 1080 no issues. Their phones and tablets are underwhelming, but high-end Apple computers are pretty boss.

I agree completely with Colin’s take on AI in game development. Having it be used for references means AI will literally shape how the final version looks, even if there’s no actual AI art in it. Plus it’s going to lead to everything looking even more samey than it does now, AI cannot actually create something new. It makes me sad to think about robot masters being designed in the future by a literal robot…

I tell you all what it is about console sales you all would have picked up on it in the past... its still the ps4/xbox one factor. I know people who just won't let those go they keep being hand me down machines to give to other people for the free games. Your game pass or warzone or fortnight all still run on them and those games also run on a toaster PC. Just like the great recession when people wouldn't let go of their cars till cash for clunkers. We need cash for ps4s.

The craziest part about PS5 sales in the US for November is that in the EU they had their best November ever and sold 2 million consoles there alone. And even looking at the world wide sales PS5 still sold almost 4 million in November. SWITCH 2 sold 2 million worldwide. Xbox sold...... 280k worldwide.

to be fair they are similar to nvidia. the hardware itself is fine, its the price they want for it that sucks. You could also argue the OS is too locked down, but thats personal preference really. Factually though yes they charge way more than what the hardware is worth. its also kinda similar to the switch 2 price. 711 cad after tax for a nintendo console is insane, but the actual switch 2 itself is a decent console and decent upgrade over the first switch, just NOT at 700 dollars cad.
