If rumors about PlayStation 6 are true, then we're well into the back-half of PS5's tenure as Sony's primary console. And -- as is often the case at this point in a generation -- the releases are starting to pick up drastically, especially dramatic considering the sheer number of options on the market these days. Thus, it's time for the second of our two yearly traditions here on Sacred Symbols, as we pre-record a couple of holiday episodes for Christmas break. While we gathered last week to look back at the year that was, it's now time to look forward at the year to come. Each of us has chosen five games (for 15 total) that we're looking forward to. The only rules are that they have to be PS5-bound and either confirmed or assumed for release in '26. That's it! So let's get into it, and see if any of your personal favorites made our list.

Resident Evil Village takes place in the future only in its DLC with Rose being grown up.

Chris: Rapture was such a beautiful city until all the immigrants came Colin: …okay but that’s kind of true though.

Vladimir Grabbinmikov

So all three of you have Bioshock in your top 5 and none of you have finished Prey? Your gamer street cred dwindles

Michael McCoy

Facts. I usually like “artsy fartsy” movies, I love Skinamarink, but Nosferatu was AWFUL

Big Booty Latinas Can Stay

For sure. Everyone knows Bioshock’s FPS gameplay has never been topped 😂😂🤡🤡

TheBehaviorAnalystGamer

Good to hear Dustin enjoying his negative reinforcement. Thanks guys for helping me study for my board exam.

Cruelty-free Pleatherface with electric chainsaw

Chris, throwing out my recommendation for the Pierce Brosnan Bond movies. Start with Goldeneye. Oh, apparently all of them are supposed to be coming to Netflix on Jan 15? Guess we’ll see if that’s true. Maybe I’ll finally get around to watching all of them.

AJWhite

To be fair, Chris typically drops games after 20 minutes or so

CombatSneeze

Where does this claim come from? I also saw it in the comments of last week episode

Daddy T

He was reading the DLC’s timeline to be fair but I was internally screaming lol🤓

thesonofit

Even though I was disappointed from what I've seen of AWII, CONTROL has been one of my favorite games of all time and so far, part 2 looks very interesting. This, NO LAW and GTAVI are my most anticipated so far.

Ryan

Colin crazy for that Venezuela comment 😭😭😭😭

For Chris: the primer of Bond (one fan's opinion, all from memory). TLDR at the end. First and foremost, it's important to know that Bond movies follow trends of the time, so while there's a formula, the variables reflect the times, with the most obvious being Moonraker as a response to Star Wars. Also, each Bond portrayal has its own vibes, so that's the best way to group them here, then you can cost where to start: Connery: These are a bit more raw films and very of the 60s/70s. It's when they were kinda figuring out out and probably the only the time they were actually trailblazing versus trend chasing. Goldfinger is what people point to being the best here and starts the turn to camp in the series with over-the-top evil plans (radiate the gold in Fort Knox) and unique/memorable henchmen (Oddjob). From Russia with Love is the first to have Blofeld and Spectre, which is only teased in Dr. No. Diamonds are Forever, his last EON film, is where things get silly, paving the way for the Roger Moore era. Lazenby: Terrible actor in a great movie, which nets out to a very ok one. The highlight here is the plot and Telly Savalas' Blofeld, and the absurd plot he has. Not a good starting point, but don't skip it if the series gets its hooks in you. Moore: my first thought was that you might love these as much as I do. Roger Moore was was too old to be Bond from his first movie, Live and Let Die, which was following the trends of Blacksploitation movies. At this point, Bond starts to transition into Looney Toons territory from the very first cold open (ear dynamite and the jazz funeral). You might dig these movies with your love for Raimi. They also have some memorable villains and henchmen, like Jaws. For Your Eyes Only is actually my favorite in the series due to its consistent outlandishness before Moore gets alarmingly old for the role in A View to a Kill. But that one does have Christopher Walken in an evil lair blimp, so that's something. Dalton: Don't write off The Living Daylights! It's awesome even with the political perspective being somewhat suspect looking back, but it's a sign of times. License to Kill is their take on Miami Vice and is the worst representation of the series. Brosnan: Starts to feel more modern here with GoldenEye being best starting point and maybe ending point. He's a little too suave compared to the others, but it works throughout the series. Some of the best gadgets are in these, but also some of the most convenient. Die Another Day is considered the series low point, but if you want to see how insane the plot and CGI can get in the series, look no further. Craig: Casino Royale is objectively the best film in the series. It's not even close. It's near perfect. However, it rewrites the Bond movie formula by grounding things (likely in response to the Bourne series). Outside of Quantum of Solace, victim of the writers strike, things start to dip their toes into more classic bond territory, so mileage may vary on enjoyment depending on how much you appreciate the callbacks versus looking for something that makes sense like Casino Royale. Craig and the spring cast are all great, even when the films they're in can be a bit polarizing. TLDR: Connery: Starts gritty gets silly Moore: Starts silly, gets batshit Dalton: Save for later Brosnan: GoodenEye great, then it's fine Craig: Casino Royale peak, then gets polarizing Lazenby: Comme ci, comme ca Start with the first film from the era of your choice.

We’d know about it if Colin or Chris finished it. 24 hour game. Not very eclectic

Drew B

Colin’s mom watching true blood is wild 😭😭😭

Deven Martin

Confirmed Colin is from the future

CombatSneeze

I was referring to “Chris typically drops games after 20 minutes”

DeadMail

Chris you should check out the 60s bond movie From Russia With Love to get a feel for classic bond then check out Casino Royale for the modern bond.

Honest Abe

Chris I would recommend watching Casino Royal. Mads Mikkelsen as a bond villain is absolute cinema

Yet

You guys can’t finish prey over your break tho?

Gooch Gobbler

I loved it but very vibes focused for sure. I also love Robert Egger

TheWubbz

Stinkamarink is straight crap. 10 minute short stretched way too long

Captain Falcon

Fable is really starting to live up to it's name

David Rector

For Chris: a few of my favorite Bond films are: Casino Royale and From Russia with Love.

Derriere's Gentlemen's Club circa 2006

One note about Control's lower than expected review score, I think alot of folks have forgotten it was an absolute technical mess on base ps4/xbox one with frame drops all over the place

AJWhite

He references it himself often, and his "what were playing" section is almost always different games

ThreeEyedCyclops

Chris - some people just like clean floors. If I walk around and feel one crumb of anything on my foot, I vacuum the entire house.

VanB-Boy 4 life

Chris - Watch the Daniel Craig films. They’re great, but be warned, they do piggy back off each other. So you need to start at Casino royale.
