Please welcome Sacred Symbols co-hosts Dustin Furman and Chris Ray Gun, Summon Sign and Punching Up co-host Brad Ellis, and Defining Duke co-host MrMattyPlays to a meaty and robust episode of Sacred+. I (Colin) asked these fine gentlemen to join me to discuss all of the crazy happenings in the world of PlayStation and Xbox alike. While Xbox has shed old execs and embraced new leadership, PlayStation has shut down a beloved studio while rumors circulate that it's doubling-down on its console ecosystem. These topics obviously give us plenty of threads to pull from -- and we do! -- so join us as we try to make sense of it all, and see if we can't come away with a better understanding of Sony's and Microsoft's seemingly diverging paths.

Solid Skink

This crossover is proof that exclusives are done for.

Setsuna Yuki is The Number 1 Idol

I disagree with Colin on nothing xbox has being as visually good as Yotei. Love it or hate Hellblade 2 is up there, in terms of visuals and audio

Vincent

Colin calling Indiana jones mid is so ridiculous. Yeah I bet if you look up all the solutions to puzzles in a game that’s like 1/3 to 1/2 puzzles it’s pretty mid lol. Also find a game that has better first person meele combat (maybe dying light?).

Del Griffith

Most overrated game of that year. I was so disappointed. It was a bloated mess of a game. 6/10

Murderer Kevin

One thing about Japan and European salary's compared to America's is we don't have to pay health care insurance so that is definitely part of the reason the salaries are less combined with a lower cost of living.

Claude

Also generally a lot more annual leave

Walk Forward Cutscene

2026 and Colin is still malding about Indiana Jones for some reason

Black Detective in Dexter

Days Gone did well on PC because it's a shooter and people like playing shooters with a mouse and keyboard.

Mr. Scott If You're Nasty

Indiana Jones was a really good game. More of a puzzle game but a good game for sure.

Mr. Scott If You're Nasty

I agree on the visuals, but I'm not sure it's a good 1 to 1 comparison because Hellblade 2 was more of a walking sim than game

Drew's Dew

Collin every time he has the chance to hide behind (Sony should explore out of the platform) looks like the fake smile mask, crying inside meme.

NeO JD

Imagine what Sucker Punch could do with a walking sim.

Anthony Palerino

Chris I’m so glad to hear that you’re playing the greatest competitive shooter of all time!

Joshua Brown

That’s what I say at work as I head to the toilet after I clock in

Kevin Britts

"You got rid of the team but you kept the waterboy" incredible quote from Brad lmao

P2K-itty

Love when all the gangs get together

FlynnTaggartGuy

Colin be like “I have great taste” and also “Indiana Jones is mid” pick one.

Kid-Organic

People talk about how Xbox beat the GameCube in sales, and while it’s true, but it was only a matter of roughly 2.5m units. Which isn’t that much difference when considering the PS2 went on to sell 160m. My point is that it’s mostly a rounding error in that context.

Kid-Organic

PS2 77.8% | Xbox 11.7% |GameCube 10.6%

Tanner Prusia

This was such a great conversation. Everyone had very interesting perspectives. A lot of good mic drops in this episode.

John D

I can't believe you got to miss the obvious name "the sacred Dukes podcast"

The Incredible Shulk

Yeah, his take is definitely an outlier. I loved Indy...and I'm someone that HATES puzzles in videogames
