The mispronunciation of Pokémon across many/most Last Stand Media hosts has highly annoyed me for a long while, but I’ve kept quiet in the comments so as to not be obnoxious. It’s especially been notable among those hosts who were mispronouncing it while describing how obsessed with the franchise they were at some time in their lives, and therefore should know better, in theory. On the other hand, I think Gene has been the best about it followed by Brad. For the record since it was brought up in this episode, “Po-KAY-mon” is correct. “Po-KUH-mon” is also acceptable. “Pokey-mon” is wrong and bad!

Yes I know. But you have to understand it’s like nails on a chalkboard every time Colin, Dustin, Matty, etc say the word, which is far from a rare occurrence (Micah doing it hasn’t bothered me as much bc of her accent and less experience with the franchise). Anyways as I said, I usually refrain from commenting about it bc what is the point but it fully came up in this episode so figured I’d say my peace and then go back to keeping it to myself, lol.

Wasn’t expecting a Handmaid’s Tale to be called out for the misery porn it is, but pleasantly surprised to hear it called out for what it is by Gene and Micah. It’s for people who found Hunger Games too subtle. Something to watch while they jack off to how clever they are.

My dad and his siblings are italian immigrants from when they were teenagers/early adulthood in the 50's. One of my uncle's names is Mario. Let me tell you something - nobody's saying Mary-O. Though that dialect is something that east coast, new york, Italian Americans use, it's certainly not a conventiomal pronunciation of the name.
