It's me, Colin. I know we're a little late with this one, but that's why I'm publishing it off-schedule as an extra episode of Sacred Symbols+. After all, you've been so patient! Joining me today to discuss this unique third-person shooter is Summon Sign and Punching Up host Brad Ellis and ex-LSM-er and gaming industry-type Ben Smith. I can only speak from my perspective, but -- so far in 2026 -- Pragmata is my favorite game. Frankly, I was blown away by it. It's exceptional. It shines most with its unique gameplay, yes, but there's so much more to recommend it, too: A great setting, a compelling story and setup, and quite a few things to do outside of the main adventure. Plus all of the timely implications of rogue AI, a listless humanity, and a greedy megacorporation! If you've not played Pragmata yet, you definitely should (and then you can listen). But if you already have, allow us to regale you with our thoughts on Capcom's surprising critical and commercial success story, one that will almost certainly get a sequel, one it very much deserves.

Double slammy whammy on the weekend

Lim cannon fully upgraded is definitely the glitch mode. The final boss on Insanity goes down in 2-3 hits if you get perfect timing.

I got to the game late and coincidentally just finished it, so I’m very fresh on the story and read all the in-game documents I found and watched the holo videos. Diana and 8 don’t just look like Higgins’ daughter, they’re fully copies of her so he can use them to test his cure attempts for his daughter’s illness. The cure uses lunafilament to make artificial organs, but the organ creates dead filament as a byproduct which then would kill the human it’s implanted in, so he was working on a solution for that. Diana’s body actually would automatically destroy the dead filament byproduct, which is great, but not useful to Higgins because a human wouldn’t be able to do that (this also explains why Diana can destroy the dead filament that’s around, especially once upgraded). He designed 8 to be able to control and manipulate the dead filament so it could be removed from a person’s body through that technology. This was successful in his limited tests, which Delphi got word of and moved immediately to human testing. (This is the first weird part to me) Looking for a test subject that fit the profile, they immediately found Higgins’ daughter and tested it on her (somehow without parental involvement or approval?). So that killed her, which left Higgins distraught and as he was dying saying he needed to tell everyone on Earth about the danger of the dead filament, which 8 interpreted as being accomplished by sending all the dead filament to them directly (the other weird part).

Perfect release for Father’s Day!

The Incredible Shulk

Enjoyable game. I wish there was a little more variety in the guns (I didn’t bother with half of them). And some of the trials were too frustrating for my skill level. Otherwise, pretty great!

Am I the only one that thought Hugh looks just like Colin?
