The latest release by Halo Studios is here! While the run up to this launch has been far from clean, how does this game fare when separated from the noise? The Dukes who have deep ties to this game unpack it from the ‘super fan’ angle before rolling into what this means for those who have never played a Halo game. It’s a strange one, but we’ll do our best as always!

Yeeeh, I cancelled my Halo preorder after listening to this - I love Bungie’s Halo and have fond memories of Combat Evolved when I used to play on Xbox. I’ll wait for a wider concensus.

The reason that UNSC weapons are on a covenant ship may be because that ship is a research ship so they have a ton of them to study also why there is a simulation environment in it as well.

Anyone who thinks that the US/global numbers are going to be drastically different are delusional. The US is the biggest market. I get physical bros being bummed out but they need to move from the denial stage of grief to acceptance asap.

Of course 343 just lazily used the Reach Elite melee animations in Campaign Evolved, which now means the player is unable to avoid them and close-range options are limited. I wouldn’t call myself a Halo expert by any means, but if I was making a CE Remake with the Reach engine, this would have been a top priority. And I love Reach btw, but this was not a good idea from Bungie and shouldn’t be in CE

Who knows how much bigger the actual numbers are in the grand scheme of things, but actually yes, physical is a bigger deal in other parts of the world outside of the US.

Fallout and Elder Scrolls are literally the only owned Xbox IP that they could lock down and actually have new players coming to their ecosystem. Its only stupid if the initiative is not to grow the platform and ecosystem. If you combine PC and Xbox, compared to just Playstation, there is no significant difference in playerbases that will buy a new popular game that is locked to platforms.
