Love Gene, but Mary Jane isn’t remotely hot and she wasn’t improved at all between the games. I don’t need a female character to be hot btw, but Insomniac seems to intentionally uglify their female characters for some reason. The narrative about staff injecting themselves into games in that manner isn’t stupid either as it seems to be repeated a number of times. It’s pretty hard to deny that Mary Jane looks much more like the staff member as opposed to the attractive model. It’s not wrong to say some women are better looking than others… Character wise, she’s insufferable and her force feeding sections into the game hurt it immensely. That, and making Peter Parker lose in every scenario all in an attempt to prop up both Miles and Mary Jane destroyed the narrative. All Spider-Man does is get beat up and apologize all game long. It’s shame as it’s one of the best playing games ever made, traversal wise it’s basically perfect. Also, Wolverine not being open world is a great thing, not a detriment.

Not saying it’s the best story.Iam there for how good it feels to play and the boss fights. Just like Mario games. Mario and Zelda stories are awful but they never get criticized is my point

Gene calling out the LSM community and their phobia of spoilers lol. I understand that people can be really annoying with bitching about spoilers, especially when it comes to gameplay elements or stuff early on in games, and I myself don’t appreciate huge spoilers out of nowhere, but at some point you just have to let it go and say “skip ahead one or two minutes if you don’t want spoilers” and be done with it. The frequency with which he says “this is not a spoiler” is also maddening. It’s like people have given him spoiler blame PTSD or something. I like Gene but man.

Fair point, but they’re also listening to a discussion about the game almost 3 years after it was released. If you don’t want anything at all spoiled about the game, including which iconic Spider-Man villains might be in the game, then I would say you should probably skip ahead past the entire discussion. That’s what I do for games I haven’t played if I’m very cautious about any and all spoilers for that game.
