After multiple accounts of poor interactions, Matty and Cog tackle the growing frustration among indie developers with PlayStation. With PlayStation serving as the dominant platform for independent games for a majority of the PS4 generation, this serves as a drastic change of pace. What has Xbox done to make up the ground, where can they continue to improve, and how does PlayStation respond to the backlash? The Dukes dive in!

Big titty drinker

Honestly I dont think playstation really cares about indie games...and they shouldnt because most of thier fans dont. And that's ok. I mean just look at thier last state of play, people Hated it. As a sony fan I dont really care about indies at all I come to them for things like ghost and last of us ...

COG's audio cuts out completely at some point - creating long stretches of silence.

One of the many Garcias

COG's audio seems to cut out around 24-25 minutes in for me anyone else have this issue? Edit: COG's audio comes back after a minute

Will Hahn

I don't understand why Matty thinks that MS will abandon PC or day-one PC releases if they ever become the market leader. Where is this concern coming from? That is so antithetical to their "Game Pass on everything" business model. Game Pass, not console sales, is the reason why MS is still investing in video games. His concern should be that Game Pass might eventually get too expensive and that the number of 3rd party titles may drop drastically.

Audio cuts for me around 24 minutes. No biggie. Thought I’d let you know.

Stephen Forgione

Yea same. Cog’s voice cuts out. Happening on Apple podcasts for me

Stephen Forgione

Seems to be between 24-26 min, he comes back in after that

Love the idea of DD ultimate doing some spoilercasts for upcoming Xbox exclusives!!! Maybe bring some of SS boys in as well?

The Late Nate

Love having Cog as a regular participant in the Ultimates, it really adds something to have someone that Matty can bounce off of, especially because of the chemistry you two bring to the table Keep it up!

Greg Mocha

I wish Ben was our ultimate man!

Adam Barnes

Lol….. another “Xbox” podcast about Sony

Joe Carpenter

Great episode guys! Cracks me up every time Matty calls that dude “Lain” though. His name is Iain (iain)… a different spelling of Ian (pronounced ee-an). Iain is like the Scottish way of spelling it. Love the show!

AaronElWhite

I LOVE a good sub-hour focused podcast episode. All for more like this.

The Eclectic Gamer

Disagree with this episode’s title. The PS5 has Chicory this year and quite a few coming down the pike such as Jett: The Far Shore, Solar Ash and Stray.
