They're Wild For Those ARMs | Sacred Symbols+ Episode 204

It's time, my friends, for a call-in episode. Dustin and I (Colin) sat on Discord and took more than half-a-dozen inquiries -- with very little notice given and without any foreknowledge of what would be discussed -- on topics ranging from the politicization of game studios and how we deal with negativity online to the true scarcity of PlayStation 5 and the expense of gaming in the developing world. And two different callers reach out with love and admiration for Wild ARMs, one of my favorite games of all-time and a recent recipient of Trophies on PS4 and PS5. So we discuss that truly wonderful JRPG in-depth, too. More call-ins are coming, so stay-tuned!

Wasn't Wild Arms 3 the ps2 classic that you were talking about last year in how mediocore it was? How it was a slog to finish? What happened to that series, did sony just stop caring? Is Wild Arms 2 just as good as 1? Apologies if it's answered invideo.

Ha, the PS5 kinda looks like Marie from Everybody Loves Raymond designed it. 🤣

Not sure if it’s true but the PS3 PS4 and PS5 designs are all basically skyscrapers. There is a photo online of them next to the buildings they were basically copied from

The original wild arms is one of my favorite games of all times. I have beaten it more than any other RPG to this date, it's impressive because I'm typically a one and done type of gamer. I'm currently playing an RPG called the Ruined King, I'm getting some light wild arms vibes. I think Colin would love this game, you don't need to know anything about LoL to enjoy.

The whole thing of Xbox players not buying games is a bit of a spin by the media. The same thing was being said about Elden Ring but all the stars were physical. Xbox sales skew Heavily digital. When you factor digital it's pretty evenly split on sales.

Definitely my favorite Playstation main console design, favorite overall would be the PSP, had a huge place in my heart.
