In a world where Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard King could potentially finalize in the near future, there are still questions that remain. Is Xbox done acquiring studios? If not, what are some potential targets that make sense for Xbox Games Studios and the ecosystem as a whole? Cog enlists his fellow Iron Lord Brethren Lord Sovereign to help forecast acquisition candidates, dark horse options, while charting how Xbox’s entire journey arrived at this moment.

Hopefully nothing is next. Microsoft (or Sony for that matter) owning the lions share of the gaming industry is good for nobody. Microsoft already acquired Bethesda and Activision, they're good for a while.

Really enjoying Cog hosting the last few weeks. Personally, I would really like to see him take mic 1 permanently. Nothing against Matty, but YouTube and podcasting are two very different things, and I just think Cog is better built for podcasting. Also, let us not pretend like we can't see that YouTube channel active every day, just saying. But I digress. Great episode as always. I actually think this rush to consolidation is terrible. Console exclusives were already a big problem for us average folk, and now that looks to be getting worse. Now I have to buy an xbox just to have access to Bethesda games. BETHESDA!! I'm glad so many can shrug it off because they can afford everything at any price, but I cannot. This sucks.

Microsoft right now should focus on delivering engaging content, they have 30+ studios, and that's a lot already to make 3 games every quarter of course if their execution is solid.

If Microsoft was going to buy anyone that would make a big impact in the industry it would have to be capcom but if they really wanted to make a massive impact obviously Nintendo or Sony and then people can stop complaining about whether it’s coming to their platform it’s all on one platform.

They should focus on delivering something from the studios they have. It’s getting ridiculous they keep buying these studios and falling on their face. So my vote is to not buy anymore studios and focus on the tons of crap you’ve already bought.
