With Starfield and Redfall, they were set to deliver new AAA exclusives that the platform is hungry for. While that obviously got pushed back, Bethesda may have a surprise reveal up their sleeve. Zenimax Online Studios, keepers of the Elder Scrolls Online, have amassed a 200 person team to work on a new Xbox IP. It is one such project that creative director Ben Jones states has been in development for four and a half years with significant resources put into it. Are The Game Awards a good spot for this reveal? We discuss! Meanwhile, the battle for Call Of Duty ensues. It appears that Xbox has submitted an offer to PlayStation that the public has deemed "too good to be true." According to the NYTimes, Xbox has offered PlayStation ten years worth of Call Of Duty which another three added onto their original offer if sources are to be trusted. This begs the question, have the two warring companies finally reached an impasse? PlayStation has refused to comment and Jim Ryan is insisting in his latest statement that choice for gamers will outright disappear if Activision joins the Xbox family. With the EU's extension for a decision being put back until April, it seems like we are truly in for the long haul when it comes to this deal and who will ultimately come out on time. Matty just get some highlights in your hair and a shiny suit matched with gaudy sneakers and you can be like Geoff.

Really hope you dive into Lost Judgment Matty. It improves on every aspect of the first and is my favorite game RGG has made. Was so obsessed I got the platinum in two weeks

The new Gears games have nowhere near the cultural impact or quality of the new God Of War games in my opinion it's as simple as that. I enjoyed Gears 4 and 5 but barely remember a thing about them and dislike the new characters compared to the original trilogy. Also where was the "Sony bump" when Days Gone launched in the 60s on metacritic?

Matty normally I'm with you but calling for Ninja Gaiden to be exclusive..? If Team Ninja gets a good enough deal for them, sure have it day 1 on GP. But I'm getting tired of the console war garbage and this is just perpetuating it. Why wouldn't you be happy with getting it period? Why do you want others to not be able to play it? Because that is the end result of it being exclusive no matter what your reasoning, reality doesn't care. Xbox let KOTOR go because they saw it lol I don't blame them for having no faith in Aspyr. And Playstation let Crash go so your PaRapper point is moot. The whole idea of 3rd party games "belonging" to a console or their "legacy" is ridiculous. People think that about FF and Playstation but forget it started on Nintendo. First party exclusives sure, but I don't want to see any 3rd party games become exclusive. Everyone should have the opportunity to play games from 3rd party devs. The only reason anyone should want their chosen console manufacturer to buy anything is to prevent it from being taken away, which shouldn't even be a thing but MS has created such an environment. We need to get out of this cycle or it is going to harm the industry. Console warriors stand down. Rant over, sorry, love you guys but you're off the mark here.

Yeah please don’t ever compare Gears to God of War again 😂

I I’m pretty sure Xbox didn’t start the console war exclusives. In my opinion if Xbox buys the publisher I think it’s fair that they do what they want with them like Sony will do what they want with their studios.

Dead on mate. How is it fair to compare God of War to an extremely consistent franchise with incredible visuals, a full campaign, co-op (including split-screen ffs), a robust PvE Horde mode, and a complete PvP multiplayer package? Hell, sometimes Gears even adds a fourth mode to the game (like Beast Mode in Gears 3 and Escape mode in Gears 5) just because they can.

Gears Judgment is kinda garbage. Gears 5 is basicallyThe Last Jedi all over again. Consistency? Really?

Phillip

Listening to Mattys take on the deal…instead of buying up all these studios and publishers they could just try and make better games. It’s seems like they are just waving the white flag and admitting they can’t compete there and instead are trying to get market share with malign influence.

I mean they are, they have more active games in development through 2nd party than at any point i can remember in their history.

This had nothing to do with anyone purchasing a studio or publisher, this was about a deal for the game not the pub. Unfortunately that seems to be where everyone's minds go and what everyone wants. Then say it somehow "makes the game more widely available" because Gamepass. Hate to see fans of the industry call for its own demise.
