Nintendo is riding high on the massive success of the Super Mario Bros. Movie. Who wouldn't be thrilled after making billions of dollars? But, as with any triumph, the next question on everyone's mind is, what's next? The rumors are already swirling about a potential Legend of Zelda film. Unfortunately, these rumors suggest another collaboration with Illumination, the same team behind the Mario Movie and other popular animated children's films like Despicable Me and The Secret Life of Pets. Will they be able to handle the serious tone of Zelda, or are we in for a predictable children's film with cheesy jokes and slow-motion gags? The Punching Up team dives into these thoughts, along with a bunch of other Nintendo news and questions from the audience. How excited are we for the upcoming release of Pikmin 4? Why is Nintendo quietly releasing Everybody 1-2 Switch? And what are our fondest memories of Nintendo? It's all here, so hit play and enjoy!

I miss the fake Japanese game titles lol

Tonys_Always_Write

I absolutely refuse to beat the game until I finish the shrines thank you very much.

Oh, I definitely will! I've been playing the main story beats with my daughter who's only here on weekends usually so it can be difficult. But I have about 130 hours in and no signs of boredom 😁

Bogey Zero

Get Brad Ellis on that Zelda spoiler mode. If you can that is.

I felt compelled to do the same, eventually felt like I was going through the motions of late game botw. Eventually decided to roll credits 90 hours in, excellent ending sequence, it really captures what makes totk special. I was honestly debating if I enjoyed my first playthrough of botw more at times, because my shrine/depths grinding was too monotonous. Just a warning to those who also feel the lizard brain urge to make number go up.

Michael Mashpotato

Zelda is definitely my all time favorite game series. I absolutely do not want a Zelda movie.

Joshua Brown

There’s a thumbnail photoshop idea. Colin’s head on Baby Mario and Dagan’s head on Yoshi.

Tom Hannay

Matthew McConaughey as Ganon: "The best thing about Princess Zeldas: I get older, they stay the same age."

Josh Gamez

Calling it now: Kevin James as Link. Lol

I love this podcast! I think y'all have set the exact mood and theme it needs to be. It's the BEST Nintendo podcast for the gamers who have Nintendo gaming kids lol

For the record I upped my Patronage solely because of the inclusion of a Nintendo podcast. I'm loving the discourse between you all. It's a perfect balance of younger Nintendo kids( Dustin and Micha)against the old head Nintendo Ogs( Dagan and Gene).

Marco Maluf

“I need a child held captive in my home to force him to play this games with me” OMG this is hilarious, I feel your pain Micah and think the same way!!!
