Our Favorite PlayStation Moments of 2023 | Sacred Symbols: A PlayStation Podcast, Episode 286

The holiday season is here, and it's thus time to employ the first of our traditional yearly wrap-up episodes. Let's take a gander back at the year that was, not only in PlayStation, but in the gaming world surrounding the brand, too. Each Sacred cast member brings five 'moments' to the table, and naturally, they're of a wide array. Jim Ryan's retirement, PlayStation 5's domination, PSVR2's irrelevance, Bungie's problems, Unity's meltdown, Yuij Naka's prosecution, Baldur's Gate 3's success, PS5 Pro's inevitability, and more are on the board. Let's get to each topic -- and more! -- as we wind our way through 2023 with a keen eye toward 2024. Follow the hosts on Twitter! So funny listening to this all the while probably one of the biggest most important leaks has occurred. So looking forward to Colin’s deep dive into the financials. And Merry Christmas LSM family!

Great video, for me personally I still overall ps5 had an amazing year for games in general. Just I played it a lot and also feel there was enough thorough the year like feb had psvr 2 (not for me but it's there), then horizon dlc, ff16, spider-man 2, ending out with amazing gow valhalla.

Excellent episode. Agree on the Bungie acquisition. For me they have been in decline since the tail end of the original Destiny game. Their toxic woke culture was insufferable as well. Front facing “good guys” who can easily just sack off their teams on the backend.

Dude I refuse to pay extra to these scalpers for a PlayStation portal. Price is down to $260 so i'd imagine inventory/demand will adjust after the holidays

I know there hasn’t been a post about it yet but I really hope the guys at LSM do not skip over the Insomniac leaks. This is the biggest thing to happen in Sony all year even with the release of of Spider-Man 2. This deserves to be talked about. We don’t need to talk about peoples personal information but the things that were revealed on games upcoming games and canceled games is huge.

I know Colin respects the guys at Insomniac but I'd be surprised if they didn't dive into the relevant gaming details of the leak. I imagine Colin will be particularly interested in the sales data as well as the financial details of the Marvel deal(and the big cut they get) - not to mention the roadmap

yeah i agree with dustin that even if ps5 pro costs $600 or even $650, its still a fine value. people are willing to spend 600, 1000, 1500, even 3,000 for GPUs alone. Side note: as an xbox fan, i agree with colin that its F'ING WEIRD and also irritating that they can't even tell me for sure if Blade is even on teh xbox. "oh of course it is, we know it already" all these xbox people are saying but do we? do u really trust xbox that much at this point? if u do, u havent been paying attention. xbox has shown massive PR and marketing incompetence over and over.

Sacred Symbols needs to make an ugly Christmas sweater.. and let's be honest, it would be dope. And it would freaking sell out. You KNOW it would. Charge what you want for it.. we WILL buy it. Consider it gents.. Consider it WISELY......

Because it’s probably a next gen Xbox game. So they aren’t going to commit to a Series X|S version yet. Also your reading of the PC market is entirely incorrect. 4070/4070Ti/4080s are not selling. Only the 4090 is on the high end
