Meatball

I got a taste of Brad and now I want more 😏

Colin Moriarty

Thanks for reading my question! Just had to ask about VNs because I remember Ben saying he likes reading. Got back into reading last year after like 15 years and a good VN is like a good book that I get trophies for, which I also love.

Zeke the Plumber

Ben, if you try to sucker punch a bear, that bear is going to go medieval on your ass Also, Lockmort hates giraffes *CONFIRMED* Edit: Also Lock wants to murder Colin AND Micah *CONFIRMED*

BadHairDayCaveman

They really left Brad on an island for this episode

Bogey

“Not Barrett…not because he’s black” Okay well now I think it’s because he’s black lmao

Zac

I mean if Suicide Squad is a 7-7.5/10 then I don't see how you can think all these people tried to murder it? That's exactly why I don't want to play it. Even though you tried to say we need more games like this, I completely disagree with that. There are more than enough mediocre games out there and I don't have time for the exceptional ones so why would I waste my time with the ones that are mediocre at best?

Bogey

Ben I promise you the weapons in the paid battle pass are complete trash. You’re not missing out on anything. Best weapon is by far the Breaker shotgun

I was using the incendiary breaker for so long before I tried the regular breaker and immediately was like “yeah this is way better”

I love looters, I Platinum’d Outriders and Godfall. I just did not have fun in KTJL. To me, it’s just a mess. Traversal would be fun if not for the constant traversal stutter on PC. The combat got super samey very quickly. The skill tree and loot aren’t exciting

Addiholic

Based lock as always. Suicide Squad was a good game that was systematically dismantled by the angry journo cabal since they didn't get their precious review codes. If you actually try the game, it's so fun.

Brandon Tyler

“Harley (Quinn) is the least fun, she’s like Spider-Man with Down syndrome” -Lockmort lmfao

Zeke the Plumber

Lock, if you see this, what is your take on how media outlets spoiled the shit out of Suicide Squad immediately on release? I haven’t seen a game get spoiled this egregiously since TLOU2. I’m not talking about the “killing the justice league” part, that’s obvious, but literally everything in this game was openly spoiled by major outlets, and I just don’t think that’s cool. I wrote this into DD and Sacred back when the game came but didn’t make the cut either time, I’m just curious to hear someone else’s take on the rampant spoilers

Jose Horrach

Penny's big breakaway looks incredible im sold

Poot

Suicide Squad traversal is fun. I bought it full price and eventually plan to play it, maybe even in co-op. People who haven’t played it shouldn’t comment. There WILL be a reckoning. I’d let Wonder Woman step on me too.

Zeke the Plumber

DRG Survivor is only 10 bucks on Steam, so I checked it out It’s very fun. Thanks Ben for the recommendation

Lockmort

That's a really good point, which I completely forgot to bring up. Thanks for reminding me. What was most staggering about it, was how most people seemed to be perfectly fine with spoiling the hell out of it, since it was already deemed "bad", even though it probably ruined the game for a lot of others. It also definitely didn't help that the PC version didn't run very well, which is why I personally moved over to the PS5. Hopefully Rocksteady makes an offline mode, so that it might get a second chance in a couple of years, but I'm afraid the ship has kind of already sailed.

Billyb

Lock is spot on with Suicide Squad. It's not GOTY, but it's not this evil and awful game it's been made out to be As for some of the questions they had about it... There will be an offline mode patched in this year New characters with the start of every season, and each season is divided into 2 episodes A new episode every 6 weeks that comes with new story content, new endgame missions, and new gear sets

Max Davis

Hey Brad! I’m hopping in here to suggest you guys bring in Maximillian Dood for some FF7 rebirth talk. I think your last video with him is one of my favorite Spoilercasts of all time. Loving the new pod

NotSkyWalker

Lock draws some poignant parallels between media coverage of Suicide Squad and what we saw in September. I think it’s an important conversation to be had. Whenever you bring it up, you’re often met with dismissal - folks throw out the idea that people are just intolerant of hearing “criticism” about a game. I think this is true at times, but a dubious deflection away from clear engagement-driven drivel more often. Lock I would add GameSpot’s behavior back in September as another pertinent example. They awarded a good score and still continued an obnoxious hate game campaign. Frankly, it’s just more in line with the type of behavior befitting of a “TimDog” or “JayDub” type figure… not a legacy outlet trying to court itself to the masses as a reputable source of industry analysis. A studio with less financial security than a Rocksteady could be irreparably harmed by such practice, even if they produced a technically sound and widely enjoyable video game. That’s troublesome to me and I’m glad Lock took a moment to outline that. Suicide Squad has perfectly enjoyable, soundly made gameplay mechanics and it doesn’t take a genius to see how it might appeal to others. Suicide Squad is no (launch) Fallout 76 or No Man’s Sky. It’s not broken nor a product of deception. It is also not predatory like a Silent Hill: Ascension or your loot box game of choice. It looks just as evil as any of those in light of recent coverage, however. Subjectivity is critical to any game discussion, and we never will nor should be able to remove it from analysis, but I’m not sure devoting 99.9% of your coverage towards putting a game on blast for not being the genre that best serves your tastes is particularly useful discourse.

Ok, but if Suicide Squad is so fun, why is no one playing it anymore? I played the game for 15 hours. I wanted to love it. I found it very disappointing, specifically the loot progression and janky co-op. Also, the endgame is just not compelling or addictive. You think it’s fun, that’s cool. I wish I did. It may be a solid 7 to you but it’s a flat 5 for me, and apparently most others. I don’t believe the journalists are solely what killed the game. They didn’t help, but it’s also fair to point out that many of us think the game iust isn’t good.

Michael Mashpotato

Brad knocking out a sloth sounds like the opening of a Slotherhouse sequel. The sloth will have its revenge. 🦥

Sir Poops McGuffin

I had no idea Lockmort was a fellow rust player . I knew there was something special about him

Mangustinho

I think Ben and Lock have the best chemistry in the LSM family following this episode. So many mean, but playful jabs

The Yetti Den

Amazing chemistry with this group. 🤝

NeO JD

“Uppercutting an ostrich would be awesome.” - Brad “I made a wrong deal again.” - Lock

Andreas Lennartsson

I like Suicide Squad, but Lock saying it has better traversal than Spider-Man 2 has to be some sort of crime.

Chuck Rude

My brain is exploding from you guys thinking you can knock out a bear or giraffe. Thank you Brad for having a reasonable response of a sloth

Josh Lee

I love Lock, the guy is hilarious 🤣

Tefo

I think Lock should have his own podcast :)

Zackery Parkerson

Fun episode! Though I did have to chuckle at Lock complaining about misinformation being spread about Suicide Squad. I’ve played it, and the critics and general audience reaction are spot on. But I’m happy he found joy in the game I couldn’t.

Russell Robinson

Yeah that sounded like an exaggeration. Hell that traversal doesn't even look better than Sunset Overdrive. I'll let it slide since he's pretty funny. Good show.

Ryan

Lock defending SS as hard as he did was brutal to listen to lol

Ryan

IGN and PC Gamer did not ‘kill’ suicide squad. Suicide squad was, well… a suicide.

Glen Yelenovic

It takes and entire pack of lions to take out a giraffe… you are not punching out one

Glen Yelenovic

Wait, did that guy not realize Tekken would have a micro transaction store?! Of course they will

The Rose Experience

To each their own but no one was lied to about Suicide Squad, it’s not the game that Lock is presenting it as and the critiques are beyond accurate.

TheMuff1nMon

Banishers isn't 30-40. Main story and all the haunting cases take around 25 hours. If you're going for the 100% I imagine it takes longer. Do agree that the game was amazing, hope more people check it out

Glen Yelenovic

It’s sweet that Brad actually thinks Colin is going to play Kingdom Hearts

Guybrush Threepwood

episode was worth it alone for the part where they do marry, f$$$, kill, and Lockmort's answers cracked me da fug up holy cow

Matthew Weinhagen

Final Fantasy 16 is Awesome. Extremely fun to play. Lock is Wrong.

Marco Maluf

A Ben and Lock episode? I want to listen to this forever 😂😂😂😂
