Tolkien was 45 when the Hobbit was published and he was 57 when the Return of the King was. Good things take time to make and like Treebeard says “it takes a long time to say anything in old entish, and we don’t say anything unless it is worth taking a long time to say.” Really like the message of the video and I feel like people don’t really say it enough, even when we know it.

Great short video cobbler^^ But one thing: I don’t think the ending itself of stories makes them so important, but the fact that we don‘t have knowledge about all the details of this world that is created through these stories. That something is left to our imaginations. This is exactly why Star Wars is mostly shit these days: everything has to be explored in as much detail as possible and nothing can be left to the imagination of the viewer. So a good ending has always two important things: it leaves us at a satisfactory part for the story to end, but lets something open so we can keep on wondering/imagining what will happen or what happened before the story. Similar to a joke: the moment you overexplain it, its not funny anymore.

What works for me is I move on to a different project for a while. Other thing is show the project to someone else and get their suggestions. Usually their ideas suck but their terrible ideas help my good ones

I get your point about Star Wars, and this is a good video as always Cobbler, but you gotta add Andor in that list of things we're allowed to enjoy. Like genuinely, it's incredible. Some might say it's even better than the original 3 films. It's me, I'm some. And yes, like you say, it is the only non-turd thing that Disney somehow miraculously didn't butcher, and the rest are worthless trash, but that doesn't lower Andor, it elevates it, imo.
