Sabrina was right.

I prefer the longer podcasts y’all do, but Taha’s utter confusion at Groundhog Day was the highlight 🤣

I absolutely LOVE groundhog Day! I love science (meteorology) and I love rodents, so rodents performing science with all the pomp and circumstance of a holiday to celebrate this is just peak for me. This conversation made me love groundhog Day even more! I am in Wisconsin, USA. We have our own groundhog, Jimmy, who also contradicted puxatawny Phil this year. I like that each groundhog is free to make up his or her own mind. I also now really appreciate that the names of the groundhogs are just "titles". This definitely clarifies something I had been wondering about myself. Thank you for this!

Issac Asimov did an excellent essay on the thirteen-month system and added a single extra-calendaral day every four years.

This was a pretty chaotic and enjoyable podcast :) Especially for me, since calendrical reform is a subject I can ramble about for quite a while! Fortunately, Sabrina was there to do some math at some point, otherwise I would have gone crazy ;)

Wait, does Phil the Groundhog reincarnates like the Avatar and it is our job to find him?

i was listening to the old podcasts and this entire year was foreshadowed in episode 47 march 24, sabrina was talking about wanting to make space to play and taha was was talking about getting out of the beginner's mindset and not wanting to frame riding the rails in a negative spotlight...
