On this weeks episode, the gang gets existential (again lol). Sabrina talks about burnout, Taha’s somehow accomplished all his dreams already, and Melissa is busy self actualizing.

Okay, hear me out: Taha does a mini series of art of things on the internet... Somehow with references to the marathon in each one.

Overall, a very interesting podcast. I enjoy hearing young people talk about what they’re going through when they are the age that I was so long ago.

Something I have always loved about AIP is that you have never pretended to have all the answers, but instead you focus on the journey to get there, and show both the joy and the struggle of that journey. So I think talking about your respective existential crises on here is surprisingly on brand, lol. But I do really appreciate that approach, because even if everybody is struggling with different things, it helps to know that struggling is normal and that it usually gets better. Personally, I am closer than ever to achieving my dream of earning my money with creative work. I am currently studying interactive media, and while I am learning a ton and I enjoy many parts of it, constantly making stuff under pressure, with very little time, and with assignments that sometimes just kind of suck, has kind of taken a toll on my inherent motivation to create. I've been trying to give myself more space to just make stuff for the sake of it, and luckily I'm already feeling better about this than I did 6 months ago. So there are many things I do relate to on some level in the podcast, like struggling with motivation or feeling like I should be thriving but I'm not. Something something precipice of thriving... I guess this is all to say, thank you for sharing your struggles - here and elsewhere. It helps me feel less alone ^^

Don't love your job; job your love 🤔🤔😂

Taha's metaphor of being in the internet as being in the ocean is so beautifully written. Explaining water to goldfish?? Chefs kiss prose. The reframing of excellence as sometimes just doing what you can't conveniently do is a big realisation for me this year too. Im not remotely close to a creator and found this chat very soul filling. If that made sense. And I agree, this is very on brand.

I liked it. Like, the reason I'm subscribed on Patreon is that I like what you do, diving into a subject from some idle question and then presenting your findings somewhat coherently. I recognize that you'll have ups and downs which affect the pace of your output, and I want to help give you the ability to actually deal with it, which I don't think you could do if you'd have to rely solely on sponsorships and ad revenue. So yeah, it's nice to hear a bit about what's going on with you and I encourage you to take good care of yourselves and each other.

Personality tests are weird, there are quite a few out there, even if the most well known has been debunked. The Clifton Strengths test, and SparkType are the two others that I know of. Have you ever wondered who created these, how much science is actually behind them, and how they are used? I don’t want to know what your results are, I’m just curious about the history and validity of these tests.

"you realise there's nothing to run away from" definitely had that before 🙏
