Congratulations! I'm glad y'all were able to keep doing AIP, I've gotten a lot out of it. Out of curiosity, what do y'all consider the first AIP video?

answerinprogress

the format really started with the rubiks cube video but Answer in Progress actually came into existence with the Why Do Crimes Expire video (we start teasing the name at the end of that vid and the title card at 2:02 has a little 1 in it ) - Sabrina

So proud of all of you and can't wait to see what you'll make in 2022!!

You know I'm quite amazed that the history remade videos haven't been getting more views as they're by far the best thing in the History channel YT channel. In both concept and production quality it exceeds everything else. Matched only by Sohla's videos My bet it's that it's a combination of audience (as you mentioned in the podcast) and posting dilution (the history channel posts a lot of content that is radically different in style and approach, so they'd target far different audiences). Regardless though I hope they let you keep making them. I'm doing my best to support them by watching them on loop 😂. P.S. The telegraph one is criminally underrated, easily up there with the train AI video

I think that, unless you're very eclectic to begin with, every time you switch styles or content types you're going to see an outflux of the people who liked the old stuff but not the new stuff before you see an influx of the people who like the new stuff and not the old stuff. And that's okay. Not everyone is going to be in that magical sweet spot where they like everything from high school Sabrina to the Answer in Progress trio, even if some people are. Other creatives looking at making a switch should take a lesson from this. Switching things up is a risk, and it's going to hurt at first no matter what the outcome. But sometimes you can find your way through that and end up with something genuinely better for you.
