Nick and Alexia, it was a pleasure to hear anew, Whole, Physical Graffiti. I bought both the Album, and it, on 8-Track when it came out in 1975. Thanks also to talking about your Grandparent's Experiences with WWII. Me, I was born in 1960. My early Male Mentor, a Genteel Guy, a Historian, Neumismatist and model Airplane Builder, his Uncle was NAZI Reich's Minister, Joachim Von Ribbentrop. Howard, my Friend and Mentor, dropped the Von from his last Name. Nick, unrelated, the following uploaded today. This 5 minute Gem, is in 2K, and is a very cleaned up Compilation of Audio and Video, of Peter Gabriel from 1977, performing Live, Genesis' Lamb Song, Back in N.Y.C. Enjoy ! https://youtu.be/qBWfTyg35II?si=n0M_qkpViUggTQ0Q

This was so fun to rock out with you two and this album! My favorite Zeppelin album. I'm glad you were kind of blown away by In the Light because that's my favorite track (by just a little bit). Other stand outs for me are In My Time of Dying and Ten Years Gone. I love how In My Time of Dying is a prayer to God. Amazing to accompany a prayer with THAT music. I enjoyed that song for many years before I discovered that it's a prayer. I love how much progginess there is on this album. I do think that it ends with a bit of a whimper. So, tonight as I listened I formed a custom track order that would make the whole listen end with the last really strong song (in my opinion) which is The Wanton Song. What a stunning rocker that works great for me as a last track. I mixed the last three songs in with the others earlier in the order, keeping the first 12 songs in their original sequence. Just something I do for fun to make the album listening experience have a tidy, packaged feel to it. Begin and end with songs that feel right, and maintain a nice ebb and flow with the varying energy levels of the different songs. Other than listening to the radio, I always listened to my music as complete albums for most of my life - from 1973 until I started watching you and other reactors on YouTube around the time covid hit in March 2020. Thank you so much for sharing your experience! Love rocking with you two!

I always have a saying when listening to this entire album, it goes "The best hour that you'll never get back!". This is by far my favorite Zeppelin album, and was a pleasure watching you both immersing yourselves into the music. I bet Alexia's face hurt from all the smiling 😁. Nick, we have to get Alexia to fall in love with Deep Purple as well! Love you guys!

Nick doesn't like Presence but it's an amazing album. John Bonham at his very best and Page also. Presence is the only Zep album that doesn't feature keyboards. Come on Nick, just go into it with no preconceived notions, it's top 3 led Zep. Only one weak song on that album.

NicknLex

It's better than In trough the out door:) Led Zeppelin has no bad album, but this is below the standard they set for themselves. Achilles Last Stand and Nobody 's fault but mine is top Zeppelin. The rest is simply very forgetful. I am sure I listened to presence 50-60 times. I know it better than Physical Graffiti:)

I'm having to watch this wonderful reaction over two shifts guys, so I've stopped after Kashmir. I just wondered whether you have seen 'Celebration Day', the DVD of the one-off reunion concert at the O2 Arena, in London in 2007? It was Page, Plant, Jones and Jason Bonham (John's son) on drums. If not, you must get it immediately! It's absolutely amazing and they play 'Kashmir', 'Trampled Under Foot' and 'In My Time Of Dying' from this album. The love between the three oldies and Jason is so heart warming. Will catch up Sides 3 and 4 tomorrow. Incredible music.

What a great request and glad Alexia got to hear the whole thing at last. I had a lifelong friend that I worked construction (roofing houses in Texas) back in the late 70’s and he was the ultimate Led Zeppelin FREAK. 🤩🤩🤩 He lived and breathed LZ. He was about 10years older than me and let me work on his crew for a few summers. Sitting down today and listening to this whole record really took me back. He has been passed for almost 30 years and this really brought back the memories about my friend and his favorite band if not also his favorite Led Zeppelin album. I could almost never get it off the turntable when we were roommates. I have outlived him now by about 25 years and it’s a funny thing that he is gone. Actually I’m the only one left standing from our original crew of 5 roofers that used to Blast Led Zeppelin from the Texas rooftops hammering down shingles with John Bonham. This music brought back to me his infectious broad grin and the loud whoops of joy he had when listening to what he would call the greatest hard rock band ever. “All I want for you to do is to take my body home” RIP to all my old friends and thanks NicknLex for letting me listen and share your reaction to this great album. ❤️

Back for Sides 3 and 4. You made it through unscathed! Such a long video. Perhaps the fiftieth whole album review should be a special one? Co-incidentally, yesterday marked the 49th. anniversary of the Earl's Court, London concert I attended on Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti tour. It was the only time I ever got to see them and I'm so pleased it happened. I was high up towards the side of the stage but what the heck, it was Led Zeppelin! You're right Nick, there were a number of outtakes from previous recording sessions on Sides 3 and 4, but the variety is really cool and it was so good to hear it all again. Thanks for a great video.

NicknLex

Thank you for sharing this with us, and so glad we were able to bring back memories of him for you. He seemed like a great guy; they all did. We're so happy to have gotten around to this as well!

It was a great reaction for everyone with lots of powerful memories. Music is an amazing and powerful creation.

I had the 8 track too in 1975 and I played it in my 1971 Plymouth Duster - Trampled Under Foot was the song that had the girls in the back seat dancing as I drove my pals around during grad time.. I loved the way they included Night Flight The Rover Down By The Seaside and Houses of the Holy along with new tracks- I really liked In My Time of Dying and The Wanton Song Ten Years Gone Custard Pie Kashmir all of them ...it was a fantastic album and changed the group 's sound too - a lot more variety- so glad that Nick and Alexia got to enjoy it -great music

Gail Richie

This was so fantastic!! I haven't listened to it in a long time. The Rover is a favorite because it reminds me of my first boyfriends garage band. They played it and many more LZ songs. They were pretty good. My BF played the drums. LZ was my first concert in 1977 when I was 13 years old.

NicknLex

So glad you enjoyed with us Richard!! Haven’t seen Celebration DVD!!

Gail Richie

Why did they stop after Bonham died... I heard and I believe Plant said it was because they just didn't want to play without him and also Plant was mourning his sons death (such a tragic sad story) and he just didn't want to do it anymore.

Gail Richie

I like that you brought up the way the English would sing neutral or American accent. I like the fact that Greg Lake would not do that because he wanted to be authentic. I think it's sounds great when they sing in their accent, in whatever country it happens to be. Also, I love that Tom Petty sang with an accent, but he was american and didn't speak with one. So funny.🥰

Gail Richie

You guys should do the album "Little Queen" by Heart. It's super funky... amazing band.

Gail Richie

This album has such a diverse bunch of songs like "Boogie with Stu". It's so good. I was so relaxed during one song, I fell asleep, but it didn't last long😂because I only got 3 hrs sleep last night.

Kristine Doggett

The band pretty much broke up after Bonham died because Page felt he was irreplaceable and Plant didn'twant to go on without him. Also, Plant and Bonham were bandmates and friends way before Page recruited them. To make matters worse, Bonham died only three years after Plant's own son Karac passed away tragically at age five.

Hi Guys, I use to wonder about people who didn't really know Led Zeppelin and heard the track "Houses of the Holy", then went out and bought the album of the same name, only to find that track is not on it !!! Lol This double album is a stunner in rock music. ... You asked has the song "In my time of dying" been done live ? ...Ooo guys it's time you got ahold of Led Zeppelin dvds....They released in 2001 a double dvd of never before seen footage of various concerts inc' "In my time of dying" live at Earls Court 1975. The same dvd has Knebworth Live 1979 which I went to...and Kashmir live on that is omg !!! Incredible !! There is also the stunning live performance of "Achilles Last Stand" that will blow the studio version out the water. The box set has over 5 hours of live concert footage from 1970 - 1979. It's simply called "Led Zeppelin" with a huge mountain struture on a sea of sand.....Then you have the dvd/ 2cds called "Celebration Day" Live at the O2 Arena England in 2007 which was their comeback once only ever live concert reunion, featuring Jason Bonham on drums...and "In my time of dying" is on that" with Jason showing his dad ... You taught me well....and "Kashmir" is still as powerful. This was an incredible final concert all on dvd. So you have sooo much to see live. Knebworth I will never forget !!! Thankyou for this brilliant reaction ...now go get the dvd's !!! Byeee Jim X
