Hi all and Merry Christmas!

This was inspired by a very recent Triathlon that was sponsored on the channel of The Mamas and the Papas, and we realized we just couldn't get enough of them.... so we took a leap into a full album of theirs.

A debut that doesn't seem like a debut!

Let us know your thoughts on this awesome piece of history and as always... thank you eternally for being here with us and for your endless love and support!

Happy holidays to all, Lex, Nick & Marley

me, my sister and my mom would sing this in the car and have a blast, my mom taught me and my sister how to sing, my mom was a great singer, when I first heard my mom sing it blew me away and I remember asking my mom if she would help me to sing when I was a little kid and she took the time and helped me with my breathing and singing from my diaphragm, my mom used to yell at my sister for singing from her throat and not her diaphragm, it was so funny

Brilliant move, NicknLex, diving headfirst into this album...Can't wait to hear it again and see what it does to/for you both...BTW, believe or don't, the cover was controversial at the time because it dared to show a toilet! Alexia is correct that they made "I Call Your Name" entirely their own, nothing like the fairly forgettable Beatles original...

This is a stupendous choice! My sister played this album nonstop on her record player. The inner romantic relationships were almost as dramatic as Fleetwood Mac a decade later. Michelle Phillips dated Jack Nicholson, among other celebrities. By the way, only John Phillips played guitar. The rest played no instruments. Music was provided by The Wrecking Crew.

Go Where You Wanna Go was a big hit for The Fifth Dimension, another group from the same time period with great harmonies - and the same producer, Bones Howe.

I only had their Greatest Hits album, and am familiar with all their radio hits that I've kept in my head. A reaction listen to their 2nd album would be very interesting. Several songs they've done are, not surprisingly, covers.

A lot of their music on these albums was played by the famed Wrecking Crew.

Yes, there was a lot of tension after each band member found out about the affair. Cass went to Michelle and said you know you can have any man you want why did you have to pick the man that I love, because she was very much in love with Denny almost from the first time she met him. In a doc Denny actually said that Cass came up to him and asked him to marry her and when he refused, she left the group for good. There is another song that deals with the affair, and it is called, "I saw her again last night." listen to the words and you will know exactly what the song is about. great reaction you two.
