Joe Jackson’s album is a more complete work than the rest of these IMHO.

Scott Anderson

Voting for Joe I have nominated him plenty in the past. Go Joe. JOE,JOE, JOE, JOE,

Jonathan Zodin

Molly Hatchet’s first album is southern rock perfection, but these are all killer choices. Zebra’s debut was outstanding, especially! Molly for me though!

JK

For me personally, it’s an impossible choice between Joe and Elton. Joe’s debut album is stripped-down guitar-and-bass oriented Post Punk, with catchy songs and his biggest hit, Is She Really Going Out With Him. As a member of a teenaged band, we were inspired to hear what a four piece band could do! Elton’s album is in many ways the opposite, with lush orchestrations by Paul Buckmaster and some of Bernie Taupin’s very best lyrics (influenced by his love for Hollywood westerns). Maybe Elton’s best album! And Kudos to whomever picked Dave Mason, who deserves the attention since his death two weeks ago at the age of 79. A tough choice!

Tumbleweed Connection is much better than Look Sharp... Joe Jackson has several albums that are better. TC is one of Elton's best.

Scott Anderson

It’s a very hard choice. I think Elton’s album is better one to one, but I just wanna hear him react to some new things. We’ll see what happens. People have funny taste.

cdChris

I agree. Perfection🎸

JK

Joe himself agrees with you: “I’m glad people liked it, and still like it,” says Joe of Look Sharp on his website, “though I think some of that is nostalgia and a tendency to romanticize people’s first albums, as though later ones must somehow be less ‘authentic.’ For a first album, this one’s not bad, but I was only 23 when I made it and it would be pretty weird if I didn’t think I’d done better things since.”

Stephen Caruso

Joe Jackson is good but I rank him in the top 3 of this list - Elton then Dave Mason then Joe then Molly Hatchet after that

Jonathan Zodin

I’m switching my vote to Zebra! That album was so amazing when it came out. But it just came out a decade too late. If you haven’t heard “Who’s Behind The Door” in a while you should put your vote in! Go Zebra!! 🦓🦓🦓

I'm having a tough time picking one of these out like I always do but this month is extremely tough. There are a lot of Patreon members on this Nicknlex channel that sure know how to pick an album to review…If this was a swim race, these are bunched up at the finish line with each album separated by a thousandth of second…That close. I picked Elton John's Tumbleweed Connection but ALL of these are fantastic! …I may still change my mind before the poll closes.

Dave

I originally voted for STP because we really do need more hard rock or grunge in our lives, but it looks like Joe Jackson is in a pretty good lead and a popular pick so I'm going to change my vote to Joe Jackson to help make sure he wins, family comes before self-interests.

NicknLex

Grunge may be in your future regardless of your vote, Dave!! Thanks for speaking up! :D

Dave

cool, thank you, I appreciate it very much, I'm going to check out Alice in chains right now.

Gareth Simpson

Vote Purple. It's an amazing LP. THEIR BEST! Take a chance.

Eric Meredith

It is okay. It never stood a chance. I just had to suggest it. It is a brilliant album from start to finish and holds up to this day.

Dave

Better luck next time my brother, STP will win one of these days, I hope
