Police - Something different, Police has some great deep cuts. So I voted for them :). Sabbath Renaissance But if you are going to do America, do an "Album" not Greatest Hits.

I love America and am happy they were nominated. But I agree that compilation albums should be excluded, for any band or artist.

It was between Renaissance and America, and I shocked myself tapping America. Had it been Ashes are Burning I probably would have gone the other way, but the weight of the tracks and songcraft on the America collection was just too much to ignore. I totally get the "greatest hits" controversy and actually agree, but I felt responsible to vote as it was presented to me and not based on any opinion on how the selection was constituted...Moreover, some greatest hits collections like that one became listening experiences in their own way...that one in particular (which I've never owned) became as much a soundtrack of my college years as the myriad classic LP's playing in dorm rooms and out windows onto the quad on the first day of spring...

Great points. The only thing for me is "Albums" provide Deep Cuts along with the Hit tracks that sold the album to everyone. You get to learn what the band was about as a whole. I learned that in 1977 as a 14 year old with Kansas "Point of Know Return" album . . . it was the deeper cuts that I really fell in love with. - Cheers Gary! Compilation albums do not have the “deep” cuts, but there are few and far between iconic Greatest Hits albums such as the America one and even The Eagles greatest hits. Everyone and their dog had these two albums playing all the time. No rules are set for compilation albums as far as I know. That’s just my two cents worth. 🤘

Love America but that Renaissance album stands out. All these are great choices but for me it came down to America and Renaissance. Going with Renaissance by a photo finish.

this month's choices did not hit a home run out of the park for me - I like all of the groups haven't heard Renaissance in decades America is great but only hits sometimes deep cuts make the album... Sabbath is what I have tried to get an album reaction on but Sabotage is not my favorite I like Master of Reality .. Madonna album is really good with Nile Rodgers producing a smash... I decided The Police debut album since I owned it back 40 plus years ago...also 5 straight months no notifications from Nick N Alexia

Late to the voting, I agree that greatest hits are an aberration. The Police are trailing but that is my vote.
