I knew this song was going to be blocked on YouTube thank God for Patreon. Breathtaking vocals of Pedro Aznar and of course the beautiful playing of Lyle Mays 🙏🏽✌🏽❤️

First patron gets a free song request, right?😁 Seriously though, if the music you love can't bring tears to your eyes and or chills to your spine then maybe you should find something else. Jazz and classical are my favs for relaxing but prog is what I go to for thrills and chills and the range of music is so vast! BMAC is sold out. I hope patreon works out for you. Love the insights you bring to the music you hear🙂✌️🤙

NicknLex

Agreed! Nick has gone as far as to say he’d like this to be played at his funeral. Thanks again for this gem and for all of your support!

NicknLex

Hi! I did notice you were the first! Thank you so much for your kind words and support; it’s so humbling! Yes! The requests went amazingly quickly! Thanks again and hope you have a great week! Love, Lex

Just beautiful like a river flowing. Love the interplay of the instruments. It soars. Congrats on your Patreon account! Much love ✨🤪

So glad you started with Pat. So much goodness to come, now that you are on Patreon. I support only two others on Patreon, but you are already my favorite. Thanks for working so hard!

NicknLex

That is so sweet of you! Thank you so much for your constant love and support!

I saw the Pat Metheny Group at the Alabama Theater in Birmingham in October of 86'. They were excellent, they perform this song there. I saw them again at the Fox in Atlanta Georgia, and again saw them play this, I don't remember what year that was. They were so good live, what a great band. Don't worry about getting emotional when you listen to great music Nick, now I know I'm not alone. It has the ability to well up inside of you, and it has to come out somehow. For me, often, it's crying. When you come across some things that are so beautiful, you just can't hold it inside.

NicknLex

Yes! That’s exactly what happens. Thank you!

Rest In Peace Lyle Mays. I have worked on a lot of paintings while listening to Pat Metheny. Saw them perform 3 times in the 80s. Unbelievable musicians, love your reactions.

I've been blessed to be able to see Pat 4 times, twice with the Pat Metheny group. First Circle was the highlight of the PMG concert at Meadowbrook Theater in Michigan, 1995. I'd love to see you react to Last Train Home from the Still Life Talking album!

NicknLex

Wow, that is awesome to have seen him live that many times! Thanks for the suggestion and support! :) - Lex

This is truly great work. Pat Matheny has created some great compositions. Billy Joel has been quoted say "I admire Pat Matheny for his ability to convey his visionary compositions. Pat was a great pioneer for true Jazz. Billy Joel has created brilliant work himself.

Fantastic reaction guys! This song is infectious - it’s been a favorite of mine from him since the very first time I heard it. And that long vocal bridge ❤️ It wasn’t uncommon for Pat’s hands to be bloody after playing this live. The energy in the room as I watched him play was absolutely amazing.

Such feel good music. Wonderful - Thank you.

My good friend and Best Man got me into Pat Metheny back in 1980. Since then I've seen the Pat Metheny Group 3 times and Pat Metheny (not Pat Metheny Group) once. Basically, without Lyle Mays and Danny Gottlieb
