A great song by them is Silver Springs. Written about the drama between Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. Live is best; shows her singing directly to him about her hurt and pain.

Oh my goodness! Your hair looks good!🤐🤐🤐 You guys surprise me a lot, I wasn't sure if you'd like this or not. Rumours was such a blockbuster album! And they were great in concert, for the life of me, I can't remember the year I saw them, '90 maybe? Anyway, great choices.

Reed Sturdivant

Ah yes, Fleetwood Mac........the only band I have seen more times than RUSH. Buckingham is a genius. This band was another fusion of extreme talent being together at the same time. If you stick with Fleetwood Mac, you are in for a treat when you get to TUSK. PS_love the hair.

come together

Lindsey Buckingham (male) on vocals and guitar. There's actually three different vocalists. Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie are the other two.

come together

A pretty decent sized rabbit hole for Fleetwood Mac. I can't remember the instrument Lindsey is playing on the last song, a dobro maybe? I just looked it up, it was an Acoustasonic Jazzmaster.

Mark Alexander

Thanks, Alexia, for reminding me that I’m seven weeks behind on a haircut! Go, Fleetwood Mac! Got to admit I like Christine McVie’s voice better than Stevie Nicks,, but I suspect I’m in the minority there.

Franck Thibault

This was good! But, even though not the same style, my favorite 2 lead singers band is Linkin Park, ok, they are one of my favorite bands period.

MrMojoRisin

This album won the Grammy for Best Album 1977. Bringing in Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks in 1975 brought this band to a completely different level. The romantic angst between Christine McVie/ John McVie and Lindsay Buckingham/Stevie Nicks was the catalyst for all the incredible songs on this album eventually leading to the breakdown of the band itself. There's not a bad tune on this record! You should check out the album before this one simply titled "Fleetwood Mac". So many great tunes on that as well.

When most people think of Fleetwood Mac they think of Rumors and the self-titled album, however their early albums are completely different. Definitely check out the old stuff but do not expect to hear the same band as you're used to on the radio. Peter Green was one of the British Blues legends back in the day and got his start filling in for Eric Clapton when he was with John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. Fleetwood Mac was comprised of members from this group, however the Bluesbreakers also launched the careers of Mick Taylor, Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Aynsley Dunbar, Jon Hiseman, and a laundry list of other big names of the time.

Michele

I’m with you. I even had her solo album “The Legendary Christine Perfect Album.” Tracks like “I’d Rather Go Blind” sounded great. Thanks, Mark. I also liked the Peter Green’s Fleetwood (Bluesy). Oh ... And I did like “Hypnotized” ✨🤪

Debra Brabenec

Michele-Yes- they should hear "Oh well" and "Hypnotized" both for early F Mac intro, don't you think?

Buddy Stewart

Not a lot I can say that other folks haven't already. The earlier Fleetwood Mac really sounds like a completely different band than the later Fleetwood Mac, and they were. I haven't heard every album, but from the earlier stuff, some of the songs I really liked are: Bare Trees, Hypnotized, The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown). Green Manalishi was made very popular when Judas Priest covered the song, a lot of people thought it was their song, but Peter Green wrote it. Fleetwood Mac has had about 17 different members. So the flux of the band, obviously had an effect on their sound and song writing. In 1974, they brought in Lindsey Buckingham (lead guitar and vocals) and Stevie Nicks (vocals) and they developed a more pop-rock sound. It's the sound that most people are familiar with, and sold the most records with.

come together

Definitely agree on Oh Well and Hypnotized!

RICHARD HICKMAN

Whatever music you like "Everyone adores Rumours" a true British-American masterpiece. You also need to check out Peter Green incarnation of Fleetwood Mac. Fantastic music! . Almost as good as Rush lol

Greybeard Music Man

Call me crazy! Because that's just what I am...lol. But I enjoyed "Tusk" more than "Rumours". I didn't get to heavy into Fleetwood at the time. I was more into UFO, Uriah Heep, and Zeppelin. Didn't really dive into them until early 80's. I think my favorite track from "Rumours" album would be Gold Dust Woman. Christie McVie absolutely love her vocals, and a shame she doesn't get the props she deserves. A good track to try "Leather and Lace" a great collaboration between Stevie Nicks and Don Henley. Christie McVie's solo album "In the Meantime" is lovely.

Ah, the biggest soft-rock soap opera disguised as a band (maybe only surpassed by ABBA) 😄 that not withstanding, they've had some excellent songs, but I've never been too smitten with them. As others have said, this band was completely different in the late 60s/early 70s. Earthy blues-rock. They also wrote "Black Magic Woman", later made famous by Santana. Of these three tracks here I like the acoustic "Never going back again" best. Still, enjoyed your reaction and comments. Btw, getting a haircut soon, too 😉😉

David M

New hair doos. Nick's is very long and Lex shorter and styled differently. Like. You guys are so fun.

Rudi Becker

I'm glad, you are reacting here, because here are your friends :-) In your "public" channel probably some idiots would have commented: Oh my god, you don't know about Rumours ? 40.000.000 copies sold worldwide ... but here everybody will say: well, they weren't born yet, so why should they know? Nick, Stevie Nicks would love you for calling her a girl, because at that time she already was 28 or 29 years old; they also had another female singer, Christine McVie. Similar to Deep Purple, you can call this Fleetwood Mac Mark 2 or 3. They had started as a blues/bluesrock band, guided by Peter Green. They wrote songs, which became more famous by the covers, such as Black Magic Woman by Santana or Green Manalishi by Judas Priest. Maybe their most famous song is the instrumental Albatros, which probably many people know without knowing the artist. I loved this album in 77, I almost played it to death, but because it's so "light", it didn't happen. Honestly I was a little in love with Stevie Nicks, the poster included in the LP had such a cute photo of her :-) The male singer was Lindsey Buckingham, they were partners in life and also played as duet before joining Fleetwood Mac. Too bad you missed my favourite song of the album Go your own ways, thousands of times heard and still love it. Rumours is their masterpiece, everything which followed had good songs, but judging complete albums, Rumours is the best.

Rudi Becker

PS: nice haircut, Alexia .... I like it, on the other hand, you always look good :-)

Rudi Becker

you name your bands and I think : Boogie, Gypsy, Immigrant song ... because that's how my rock journey started in 1970 ... I'll have to add Black Night, Paranoid and Alright now

kent lumm

i prefer the 60's and early 70's more than the chartbusting albums but this album is very enjoyable,...and nick check out the early blues stuff, peter green is an awesome guitarist indeed...and nice look Lex...

Michele

Funny. I almost went with Oh Well. But I wasn’t sure (being that it’s bluesy). And “Hypnotized” always occupied that file in my brain with “Daydream” (Robin Trower). Both are such hypnotic trance vibes. But getting back to my request selection ... my instinct was originally for more Yes, but there were already some requested. I went with a request from 1968 that may disappoint many here - a vocalist backed by a jazz upright bass (a clash of tempo and melody) but it’s to honor N&L’s upcoming wedding anniversary. Cheers 🥂 to the young couple in love with music, life and each other! So please don’t come for me ... hahaha 😝 Thanks ✨🤪

Mark Alexander

Michele, wouldn’t happen to mean Chris White as bassist, by any chance?

Michele

Great guess but no cigar. And Chris White did play with Nina Simone in the 60’s so ... but this is another vocalist, usually considered a demanding band leader but here he was thrown in with jazz bassist, Richard Davis and Connie Kay on drums and others. It’s always sounded to me like a battle for tempo and melody but I loved it and it’s especially for young lovers. No more hints. Lol. I don’t expect the channel to approve but like Peter Green sang, Oh Well 🤷🏻‍♀️ Lol. Have fun, my Friend. ✨🤪

Michele

You made me chuckle with your description of “soft-pop soap opera” lol. There was always talk of the partnering of members. I don’t think I ever bought a Fleetwood Mac album after Peter Green and Hypnotized (Mystery to Me?) because you didn’t have to own the Stevie Nicks albums - they got enough airplay. Lol. Great soft-pop soap opera songs though. ✨🤪

Richard

The entire "Future Games" is, simply put. Amazing!!!

Thomas Zanot

Americana is maybe the word you’re searching for? Maybe using a Ukulele on the last song? I think it’s a steel guitar maybe. Nick needs a haircut btw.

NicknLex

Yes we did mention that word isn another video. A haircut? That hair isn't even long yet haha 😆 I have considered it for now I'll let it grow out 🎸

Normand Aubry

Peter Green is one of the most soulful guitar player ever. He’s a legend, and even his main guitar became a legend. He’s the man who wrote Black Magic Woman

Jerry C

Never Going Back is just Lindsay Buckingham and an acoustic guitar, just like the one behind you. Drop D tuning with a capo on the 4th fret. His fingerstyle playing is legendary.. probably because he doesn't even own a pick. A lot of people swear that's two guitars on two different tracks, but it isn't. One guitar, one track, one take. And no, it isn't a waltz. it's in 4/4 time

Tim Backster

UMMM, I'd do some research into the band. I'm strictly only a fan of the later version of the band with huge talents of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks's entry. But, it can NOT be understated the influence and contribution that Christine MacVie brought to the group. Seek out her songs and song writing. Such a stellar talent in her own right! DO YOUR research on her songs and Hopefully react to them here for OUR pleasure!!!

poluxsaurus

Rumours is totally worth a full album listen!

Luke D

Lots of good memories.

Tim Backster

Oh I didn't realise I had already commented on this post..Ha ha. Nick are you thinking of a Mandolin? Oh and You're wrong. Three singers...You both should look into songs the Christie McVie WROTE and sung for Fleetwood Mac!!! And don't worry Pink Floyd won't block you here...Look at all the PF Andy and Alex have done, not to mention all the other reactors... Do more Elton John however. See my recent post on YT re EJ playlist...
