Funny story about Led Zeppelin. When I was growing up, they would constantly play "Over the Hills and Far Away" on the radio but they would never say the name of the song. I knew it was Zeppelin but that's it. So I bought Coda, put on a little of each track and was disappointed that song wasn't on there. But I LOVED the album! So then I bought Zeppelin 1, then 2, then 4 and then 3, and still the song was not on there. But again, LOVED all of the albums. Then I thought, "Ok it has to be on Physical Graffiti" since it was 2 albums with a bunch of songs, but of course, no... Finally I bought Houses of the Holy and was so happy! This is how I became a Zeppelin fan. Still love most of their music but don't listen to them much anymore. If I do, it's usually the deep cuts since their hits were SO overplayed. Presence has always been one of my favorites by them, this track in particular. But I still have a special place in my heart for Coda.

love this album and y'all's reactiuon to it and others. im quitting my patreons cos im so fed up with how hard it is to navigate this crappy platform, hard to find content, non-intuitve, too busy, etc. but good luck to u guys!

In Yer World

Oh, Nick! You are going to have to give a few songs from ITTOD another listen. In The Evening and Carouselambra are two great tunes.

NicknLex

We could do a full Album. I heard it maybe twice and didn't like it.. but maybe now I would have a change of heart. Who knows?

PhantomRocker

Love this one. One of my top 5 Zep songs.

Alden21

Wow, so Presence is a bad album? Really? It's an opinion I guess, but it's just a silly comment and that's being polite.

Paul Davison

I do apologise, had a few last night 🤪

Paul Davison

I apologise had a few too many last night.

NicknLex

Yes it's my opinion. I have been listening to their entire catalog for 25 years and I have never changed my stance on the last 3 albums. Badly written badly produced. I come back every couple of years and the last 3 albums are still their weakest. If presence is on your fave list than I am happy for you. I am glad you can enjoy it. Door and Coda have maybe 3 good songs between the two. Zeppelin stopped being good with physical graffiti.

Alden21

I've been listening to the catalog since it came out, I've listened to more music than you've ever dreamed of. To say Presence is a bad album hurts your credibility.

Alden21

No worries!

Mickey D

People are allowed not to like music. It makes no sense to me to begrudge someone their opinion on a song, album, genre... you can perhaps argue that an album was not well-produced because there are concrete metrics involved. But saying someone's lost "credibility" because they don't like what you like? Don't get it. And it's not a contest (I've listened to more music than you so my opinion carries more weight).

NicknLex

I have been listening to music since I was a baby. Classical music, jazz, rock etc. To say that you have been listening to more music just because your older is insane. I studied it. I can read and write music. I know the theory. I play guitar and probably outplay jimmy page by a lot. To say that presence is a good album simply shows you're a fanboy. And with bad taste.

NicknLex

I agree with you. Some people hate the black album by Metallica. I love the album. If they don't like it it doesn't make them loose my respect or their credibility. It doesn't make them less of a fan. The black album lacks what their first 4 albums have. That's it. I still like it anyways. If he likes presence he is welcome to do so. But calling me not credible for having different taste is a bit too much. Like you said its not a competition. There are certain reasons for me not enjoying the music on their last 3 albums. Presence is not even that bad. It's not their worst but it simply is not a good album. ( That's just my opinion) For others it could be their favorite. Some people love Mozart some people like Beethoven more. Some hate both of them and they listen to Debussy. It's all a matter of taste. Maybe one album is too repetitive. For me presence is just bleak. It doesn't have the colors of 1-4. If 1-4 is a canvas with bright colors presence is black and white.

Nick needs to revisit In Through The Out Door, which is by far NOT a bad Zeppelin album. Seriously? Fool In The Rain, Carouselambra, In The Evening, All Of My Love!? They are all great. They deserve a reaction as much as any Zeppelin songs.

NicknLex

In the evening is a good song. All of my love is ok too. We can react to the rest and see 👍

Murdock Moriarty

In through the outdoor was the last "proper" album. 'Coda' is a compilation of leftovers and unreleased material. I think 'ITTOD' isn't as bad as it is sometimes made out to be, maybe lacking a bit in energy, and rock fans probably weren't happy with the keyboards foreshadowing the 80s. "In the evening" and "Fool in the Rain" are two really cool songs. "Carouselambra" is interesting, too. But who am I to judge - I was literally born the day John Bonham died (it doesn't make me more interesting, and still just an average drummer 😉)

Murdock Moriarty

"Nobody's Fault by Mine" certainly is my fave on 'Presence' even though it's slightly repetitive, and they really overdid it with the stop-and-go structures in the songs on that album.

Tammie Curtis

Nobody's Fault but Mine is one of my favorite Zeppelin songs.

Jim Hagen

Nick Nick Nick….Fool In The Rain is the best song on that album. Listen to Bonham’s groove. It’s one of his best. He died way too young at 32

Jack Engard

Bonham was famous for his footwork and this is a prime example of that!

Vince G

Yeah guys Presence is just great. No weak tracks really. Bonham just crushes it. As far In through the Out Door, Carouselambra is pretty epic. Hardly anyone reacts to that. Maybe someday guys, hope all goes well with your mom Nick!

Great Scott

(Finally got around to listening to this one -- really great!) I must second Carouselambra from In Through The Out Door -- it got some air play, but never as much as the other big track[s] on that LP, so I strongly recommend it. It's almost more instrumental than the others, but has some minor lyrics, that I sort of consider to be just another instrument in the mix rather than words.

B Mac

Missed this. For the bass playing hottie, er I mean lady, John Paul Jones is playing an 8 string (double course) Alembic Bass on this track.
