Hi fam,

Here is our next movie of the week. This week we are watching Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Ark. This movie was so much fun! Other than Star Wars, I've never really seen Harrison Ford in his prime. The character of Indy is exactly that, Harrison Ford at his prime!

I can't wait to continue this story!

Which movie from this saga is your favourite? Which are you the most excited for me to watch?

I can't wait to hear from you!

Xoxo,

Alexxa

I'm seeing the Dial of Destiny (Indiana Jones 5) in the cinema tomorrow :)

Let me know how it is! I read (very quickly since I didn't want any spoilers) that people think it was meh, but I feel like people have weird expectations these days. I will be watching it as soon as it lands on Disney+ regardless 😉

It was ok. Far from the best, but better than Crystal Skull. Not a fan of Temple of Doom either; So - by default - it actually ends up placing #3 in my ranking of the series! I was disappointed that all the chase scenes were constructed through CGI rather than daring stunt work. I also felt it was a cheap shot to depict elderly Indy (adventurer; ace archaeologist; veteran and respected university professor) living in a dive apartment in a run-down tenement. Come on! The movie repeated all the familiar tropes (how many times need we have chases through crowded bazaars anyway??); but the final 30 minutes were truly out of left fieldj, and genuinely imaginative. I give it points for that. I don't really get the anger that many fans have expressed. Today's fan climate (be it Indy; Star Wars; Bond etc etc) seems to be a bizarre wish to have everything fail! I'm really not sure why. Dial of Destiny doesn't fail, imo; but it's not the best of the franchise, either. It's watchable...but we certainly don't need any more. Five is enough :)

Ouuuhh, I can't wait to see it. I'm not sure where the CGI comes into play, I've been lucky that I haven't gotten spoilers yet. But I'm excited to watch the second Indiana Jones this weekend! Thanks for the info Ian! 💛
