Hi fam,

We are back with another The Golden Girls reaction. Today, we are watching Isn't It Romantic. In this episode, Dorothy's friend Jean comes for a visit after the loss of her partner. We find out early on that Jean is gay. Unsure of how her roommates will handle this information, Dorothy and Jean decide to keep this information a secret. During her visit, however, Jean develops feelings for our Rose, which leads to some funny conversations.

This was a great episode! I hope you enjoy my reaction to it!

Xoxo,

Alexxa

Btw, I love how endearing you find this show. I suggest that the next series you react to is "Girlfriends"....it was a series that came out in the early aughts from 2000 to 2008(?), follows the friendship of 4 Black woman...a dichotomy of GG, regarding race and age, but still FUNNY AF...just a humble suggestion..meanwhile, keep up the great work!!

I don’t know if you like that I keep telling you all these real life facts about the episodes, 😂😭 but in this case, this episode was groundbreaking. It won an Emmy for its writing and it was considered a huge breakthrough for LGBTQ+ storylines and representation in TV. This episode aired in 1986! Even if some of the jokes and dialogue are a bit dated now, it’s still hilarious, heartfelt and well-made. It’s also Betty White’s (Rose) personal favorite episode.

Ohh, I watched that entire show a few months ago on Netflix. It’s quite good (up until a point) but that’d be a great show for Alexxa to react. I think she’d love it. I hope she does it some day.
