The two deaths: when an artist can no longer practice their art is the first death. It isn’t about creating for others to consume but rather when the act of creating is no longer possible. Example: When my dad could no longer play his instruments he wrote a book and arranged music. When he could no longer do even that he stopped enjoying life.

I thoroughly enjoyed this commentary. As a non-musician who grew up with a musician, I always enjoy musicians speaking in their language.
