Cody, a young adult from Earth had ended up in the anti-realm somehow, there he eventually met a king named David and they both became good friends and David helped Cody survive in that world by giving him food and a temporary bed to sleep.

Eventually Cody needed to look for a job and David managed to get him hired at a magical school as an assistant to Jit, the nimbat.
