I need to rebalance our current workload. As an artist I always want to bring to you the best quality artwork. However, because I put too much time on a single work that led me to a huge deadline... 5 months of work late is big you know.

Before adding dialogue, a normal full background set will take me 10 days to complete.  A full illustration with dialogue usually took me 14-15 days to complete. That is why keeping 3 sets each month only extends the deadline more and more and after a year.. It's nearly half-year late now.

That is why I reduce workload and start to make more than putting everything to quality.  From now on, the new workload would be like this:

 - 1 full background with dialogue set: 14 days

 - 2 simple characters with no background, no dialogue: 7 x 2 = 14 days

I will take 2 days to rest. If I can make a set faster, that time will go to make a new set to shorten the deadline. You may see more than 3 illustrations each month in reality though. I need the format to get some space to adjust each work ( you know my bad habit to make things complicated on each work though ).

I know cutting content is painful but I need to do something before I'm unable to. The page is on the verge of dying, I can't just let it end like this.

I will try this workload format after I finish this month's work.

I really hope for your understanding and keep supporting me.

It's all good for me, even current schedule! Do as it's best for you, and have some rest in the plannings too hehe ❤️

Ultra

Sounds good! If it's something that works more easily for you then I'm all for it. Very excited about it!

This doesn't sound good to me, because this schedule can be exhausting (only 2 days of rest per month? really?). Maybe 1 full background + 1 simple character or 3 simple characters per month, which gives you a good week to rest. You've always been pushing yourself too hard bro...

I think it's fine if you need to cut back a bit to get things out regularly. You've demonstrated such an incredible growth and quality with your style, if the health of your page requires more quantity, I think we all accept that. More than that, we want you to be healthy. Obviously you can't really make anything if you're burning yourself out, but I also, as a person, want you to be in a good place physically and mentally too. They say pain makes good art but I think we do wonderful work when we're well rested as well. You will always have my understanding and support. If this plan results in a good personal balance for you, then I am all for it. I know it's a tough balance to find so I have nothing but patience because I certainly wouldn't know what the best answer is myself without trying different things out. I am always looking forward to whatever you come up with and it's never a problem to wait a little bit, which I know is a funny thing to say considering your current concern with deadlines; it sounds like a paradox but building in a bit more rest time might let you be more productive, so long as you keep the detail from spiraling into something more complicated. Easier said than done, I know. I have this problem too and I have to remind myself that when it comes to writing for example you can truly edit something forever. I think especially when you're passionate about something there will always be something you think might be interesting to tweak or add to iterate on the finished piece. I love going to older stuff sometimes and just...like, changing stuff, adding onto it, fixing it. This is a strange idea, but would it help if you gave yourself just a small amount of time each month to work on pieces that are otherwise finished? Like maybe you set a firm stopping point but come around to pieces later if you want to flesh out the background a bit more? I know sometimes artists will go back to old pieces and revamp them or do new versions, so maybe something like that could scratch the itch to complicate your works without messing up your rhythm?

I am fine with your new workload but it have a huge problem... Where is your break time? Merely 3 days a month doesn't sound like break to me. Give more time to yourself, maybe don't force you to meet the tight schedule and postpone it whenever you think it's neccesary, or maybe reduce the workload to 1 full set and 1 simple characters like Ravencrafts' Family before, could simply draw a character from Blue Archeive or Arknights: Endfield if you like the character design and maybe draw attentions to new suppoeters? As always, you got my support, treat yourself well.

Thank you for going easy on me ! I will try my best to balance everything. I feel a bit overworked lately so time to make a new healthier plan.

I just roll back to the format like when I started this patreon ( around 2017-2018). You were here when it happened though haha My work has improved so much since then so I think one heavy work with 2 light work will be suitable for the current situation. Besides, I also need to learn how to draw a single character better. Art has been improved pretty much and I feel a bit out of meta now so maybe coming back to the original format can be a good chance to research new ways to improve my work. Also, I want to draw more characters with those simple sets so that I can have more ideas to try. Let's look forward to it !

3 simple sets are not possible because I won't have a chance to show off my skill or make content you like with them so one complicated set a month is the must. 1 full background + 1 simple character is tempting but It may not be enough to keep the page working though T.T It's always like this if you want to draw a character with full background while wanting to put as many variants as possible though. I can still take 3-4 hours to go around to rest then come back to work by night though so don't worry. Quality always comes with price so I don't mind doing it. Just hope you will understand my workload better so that I can ask for more deadlines though haha. Anyway, I will try my best to give my best work, let's look forward to it.

Yeah, I have been running this page for nearly a decade so lately I feel I'm not as strong as I used to be. Usually I can draw day and night without breaking just fine but now I can't do that anymore.  Aging is a scary thing so I think a healthier schedule would keep me longer with this job though.  Well, I prefer to work until the bitter end without leaving idea there for long. Unlike writing, drawing is harder to pick up again once you leave it so I always prepare thing carefully before making an artwork because I know once I started I'm going to finish it no matter what. As I said many time before, I myself also want to see how the artwork turned out. That is why I always get carried away when drawing you know. It's just a part that make this job interesting. You work hard and you surely get the best result that is why I can't leave it to wait until I came back. There are still so many good ideas I want to try haha Please don't worry, this new format is just what I did when I started the page. It will gave me plenty free time than it sounds.  Once I get rid of the deadline, you will see me come up with something more interesting ! Anyway, thank your for your understanding. Let's hope it will success this time.

Actually... there are no breaking time since 2020 when I start to drawing character with background so I already get used to it...( I don't even have proper Sunday though ; 3; ) But please don't worry, this format is actually what I did when I start this page and back then I even got some free time so I think it will work better than it sounds. Well, if thing goes to south then maybe 1 full set + 1 simple set won't be too bad to protect my health though. Anyway, let me try this first. Hope it will work out somehow ; v ;
