[Photos] My First Full Practice Match - BCWA Nov 2008 (Patreon)

Greetings, my fellow savages!

I recently mentioned on my Twitch that I was able to get into my old Photobucket account and I found a whole ass album of BCWA shows from 2008-2010 😱 and I want to start posting them here!

In chronological order, of course, so that means we are going to start with November 23, 2008 - Before Melynda (Shavonne Norrell) and I had our first match in December 2008, we had this practice match.

We were not practicing the match we were going to have on the show, that would have been smart, lmao. I'm pretty sure we just had a match on the fly. Which also has its benefits, of course.

If you don't already know, BCWA was the Detroit promotion where I trained and exclusively wrestled for the first year or two of my career! They stopped running in the early 2010s, then made a comeback several years ago, but they currently do not run anymore. Most of the roster stopped wrestling when BCWA stopped running, and of those who still do, most wrestle for Clash and other Michigan indies.

For this "practice show" in 2008, we were trying out this new venue in Detroit (which ended up not working out anyway) and it had NO HEAT. It was freezing in there, hence why I'm wrestling in some BABY PHAT track pants and my graduation hoodie. 😂💀

They also had boxes of random shit at this venue, hence Melynda and I wearing these random grass skirts over our clothes...

I don't think we found the cases upon cases of an obscure energy drinked called RED TOE (that tasted like socks and battery acid) here, I think that was the salvation army we ended up running out of for a while after this, but I'll have to ask Matthew Priest to confirm. (my trainer and current ring announcer/commentator for Clash!)

These pics probably aren't in complete order, but by the photos I guess I won this match? (I did not win our debut match a month later, lol)

All I remember about this "practice show" was that it was freezing, and that Melynda and I slapped the absolute PISS out of each other. We didn't know how to "safely" slap yet so my bite was misaligned for a WEEK after this, no joke. The photo of me holding my face at the end was not just me selling. 😅

I'm going to try to post two or more of these photo sets a month, because I have a LOT of them. BCWA ran WEEKLY at this time, which still to this day is not common for an indy show, with monthly "big shows", similar to how WWE runs honestly. Just without even a fraction of the budget. 😂

Melynda and I feuded for like a year before I went on to wrestle guys on the show, so we did soooo many in ring segments/promos to stretch out our rivalry... and the outfits only get more embarrassing from here. 😅
