Greetings, my fellow savages!

I'm continuing on with the BCWA photo albums from the first year of my career!

I started scheduling these out last Fall and then shit got busy. 😅 (Search the BCWA tag on this post for more!)

So we last left off Superslam VI on Feb 1st, where Shavonne Norrell (aka Melynda) and I basically had a redo of our first match ever that past December.

So now it's 2 weeks later, and we're allowed on the main weekly show: Frontline.

Frontline ran every Sunday. At this point it was in the Tri-City Trade Center in Detroit. At this time, The Tri-City Trade Center was BUMPIN. It wasn't as big as Gibraltar Trade Center but you could still find any and everything there. Knock-off purses, nunchucks, exotic pets, you name it. What better place to throw in a live wrestling show?

The shows only ran about an hour, admission was only $10, and kids under 10 or 12 got in free. Parents would drop their kids off and go shopping. We had regulars that would come every week.

It wasn't a normal indy experience to be able to wrestle every week at the same place - it still isn't. We got to wrestle every single week and get countless reps in front of a live audience. You can practice moves in private all day and night and still crumble in front of people. We learned to not be afraid. We learned to botch and keep going. We learned to fail and not feel embarrassed anymore.

Before getting on Frontline, the only shows you would be on were the Saturday night trainee shows, so this was a bigger deal to us. This was our getting called up to RAW. 😂

I have zero recollection of this match, but with the photos I'm slowly starting to recall some things. It seems we were still both babyface here, and I think that goes on for a few shows until I finally beat Shavonne and she snaps. (I think)

One of the hardest parts about these albums has been trying to put them in some semblance of an order. However they were saved is not a way that kept the file names in sequential order. So I did my best to organize them. But it does appear Melynda beats me here, and we leave (peacefully) together.

Melynda had so much charisma, so much swag. I'm sure she still does. She always had cute new outfits, her fur coats, and she was such a good heel. Just look at that 2nd pic! And she wasn't even a full heel here yet. We vaguely keep in touch through socials but I haven't seen her in a long time.

In the last pic you can see Mathew Priest as the ring announcer, as he continues to do for Clash!

The real question is, how long do I point my finger to the sky in my entrance? It's probably gonna be a couple years, lmao.

Hope you enjoyed! Stay classy my friends,

🖤 AK
