Greetings, my fellow savages!

This was a very busy day so we didn't get to record too much, but we are taking you behind-the-scenes of NWA Samhain Part 3, which took place last October! Particularly of our new promo shots (which we still haven't gotten back yet, I think to prevent spoilers) and in the hair & makeup room, which can be its own version of chaos at times. We're all on a tight schedule for getting makeup, hair, outfits on, outfit changes if necessary, (it's always necessary) multiple promos done, photos - and that's all before getting ready for our match(es)!

Luckily this day we only had one match, but we had multiple promos/vignettes to film. We were also trying out a new look/new gear which is always stressful for some reason. You're never fully comfortable in new gear until you've actually had a match in it.

I had a vision for my hair and makeup and the team NAILED IT. I wanted big teased 80's-ish hair. Not a complete rat's nest, but definitely big, and with the braids to keep it out of my face, and the glitter because... pro wrestling can never have enough glitter. Kara (the hair stylist) kept calling it "80's but polished" lol.

And the makeup!! We were considering a purple bodysuit, similar to the one I wore for the Mileena cosplay, but it wouldn't arrive in time so we went with all black. But once purple was in consideration, I had my heart set on a bright purple smokey eye and I'm so glad we went with it!

NWA brings in Nancy as the makeup artist (MUA), who has been with the company since the first season of Powerrr, Kara for hair, and usually adds on one more local MUA per taping. This time it was Kelly Ross, who ended up doing my makeup. I've mentioned before that my experience with various MUAs over the years has sort of traumatized me. 😅 I do not usually let a new person do my makeup anymore, unless I see their skills on someone else first.

Some MUAs are trained more for "bridal" makeup or something subtle bc I'm sure that's where more gigs exist. Wrestling is not subtle. And I had a really bad experience once where I truly do not believe the lady that was brought in (at a different company) was trained at all. But good MUAs are wayyy better at blending eyeshadow than I am, and getting my skin flawless, so I took the risk. And it paid off!

Kelly was fantastic and understood my vision. Once she told me she also works with drag queens I was like LET'S GOOOOOOO!!! Due to time I did end up adding my own finishing touches, (I like to do my own eyebrows and lips lol) Marti did my rhinestones and little eyebrow spikes, and I ended up blending the eyeshadow all the way to my hairline to make it more dramatic.

I hope you enjoy this little glimpse behind the curtain! Once the NWA episodes catch up, we can show you BTS at the Tampa tapings in December!

Check out NWA on Tuesdays, 8pm ET on Roku Sports

Stay warm out there my friends!
