When the gym whoops your ass so bad you forget what day it is. 😅

Today was a very frustrating day for me. Actually, I take that back. The day was fine, but the gym was very annoying. Jiujitsu is by far the most infuriating and humbling thing I've ever enjoyed.

Due to my travel schedule lately, I've only been able to make one or two classes a week, and today was one of those days where everyone just swept the mats with me. Figuratively and literally.

I heard through the grapevine that my coach was going to start giving me higher belts/more challenging opponents, and today it really tested my patience. 🥴

But I was annoyed before we even started rolling. When we drill in the beginning of class, I LOATHE having to switch partners with every fiber of my being. I want to stick to the people I like/trust and that's it. But it's not because I'm antisocial or mean, it's mostly for safety, and also hygiene. I don't want to go with spazzy newbies that are going to go 100% in a casual drill and possibly reinjure me. And today in particular, I'm so fucking sick of smelly people. 😂 One guy was for sure not wearing deodorant AT ALL. I can't take it.

So that + feeling like I couldn't hold my own against any of my rounds today = a very frustrated AK.

Yet, I always look forward to returning to the mats. Now that I've cooled down, I can pick apart certain things I need to work on. This weekend is my last set of bookings for the year, and I purposely didn't take any so far in January, so I'm very much looking forward to focusing on bjj during that time. 😌

Stay classy friends,

🖤 AK

Side Note: I don't get when people have crushes on me at the gym, because this is what I look like 😅 But with a shirt ON! It's definitely the most flattering though, because they are seeing me at my absolute worst, and most have no idea about my double life as a pro wrestler. 😂

I'd probably have the same concerns/pet peeves in the same situation.🥴 Only positive spin I could probably put is, if you can survive smelly-assed, over-enthusiastic newbs on the way to better your training, then you can survive anything!😅 But, for real, I know you got this b/c you kill anything you put your mind to!👍

In a weird way this reminds me of the Sammy Kershaw song, "She Don't Know She's Beautiful." -- "When she walks down stairs and her hair's all a mess, that's when she think she looks her worst. She just don't know why it's times like that I can't take my eyes off her."
